Favorite pro?
I am curious to see who everybody's favorite Pro is. Mine is Phil Gordon. He doesn't get a lot of the spotlight or credit that he deserves for his excellent poker mind. He explains theory probably better than anyone I have read yet. I highly recommend his Little Green Book for any beginners.

Re: Favorite pro?
Ted Forrest.

Re: Favorite pro?
Does Raymer count as a pro? If so, him.
Otherwise, prolly Daniel N. or Matusow. |

Even though he is still a patent attorney, he does get paid a salary by Pokerstars to appear on their site regularly and endorse them on television. He is another one who I think is underrated |

On other forums and in card rooms and such that I have been in, alot of people seem to feel that he was just some lucky doofus. |
Re: Favorite pro?
Raymer is now a full time pro player, unless his job follows him on the road from tournament to tournament in 2005.

Maybe he does it pro bono here and there or only handles pre-exsisting clients when he can. Hell, maybe he took a year sebatical, I don't know. I just remember reading that somewhere. Either way, he's a classy guy with a great mind for the game. |
Re: Favorite pro?
Harrington has always appealed to me for some reason. Just seems like the kind of guy that you wouldn't suspect anything too tricky from, and then he makes you his bitch.

Re: Favorite pro?
Phil Ivey
Just because he's the best and generally looks bored the game is so easy to him. |
Re: Favorite pro?
Phil Hellmuth

Re: Favorite pro?
Raymer, Harrington, Ivey, Brunson. All the ones who are calm, collected and gentlemanly.
If we are talking pros I like to watch obviously Hellmuth, the mouth, Farha etc. |

I would say my favorite guy to see at the final table when I tune in to watch the WPT is Daniel N. |

Don't remember her name, but I met her in Vegas a few years back. Trust me, she was a pro!

Re: Favorite pro?
Yea I like the calm guys too. Including Phil Ivey whos always keeps his cool.
I also like Sam Farha for a few reasons. First, it's funny to see him talk [censored] with other people. Second, he just looks like a badass with those suits and cigs, works very well for him IMO. Third, he's got balls. I also usually respect good LAG players right off the bat. P.S. I can't believe nobody mentioned Gus Hansen... for shame. |
Re: Favorite pro?
Howard Lederer.

Like to watch Hellmouth for the train-wreck factor. |

Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey. If I could meld those playing styles . . . man oh man

Re: Favorite pro?
Umm... I am going to have to go with Ted Forrest.

[/ QUOTE ] Hey! I'm just answering the question. If you can't respect other people's opinions, you need to find some pre-teen chat room where people actually enjoy this type of juvenile response. |
