Hand vs BeGoodTanya
Villain is 29/22/2.20 over fairly small sample. Villain loves to make plays and turn/river aggression is through the roof.

Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
one way or another, i'm guessing you got berated after this hand.

Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
Actually no, I braced myself for it but it didn't come.
Like/Dislike my line? |
Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
Whats the adv in your mind over playing like this instead of just calling down?

Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
This is the discussion I wanted to have.
Well, I'd seen villain pull similiar moves before, and I decided his checkraise meant that he picked up a turn draw, and I wanted to charge him for it. I'm not betting river UI as he should only call with a hand that beats me, but I felt I was ahead of this particular villain. With this reasoning, would it still be better to call him down and hope he bluffs off another BB? What river(s) do I fold? Ace? My plan was to fold to turn cap btw. |

My plan was to fold to turn cap btw. [/ QUOTE ] Getting 10:1? From what I know this player, she's hyperaggressive and a turn cap would not mean set or even Qs up. |

Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
Only just noticed this opponent today in a few 15/30 games, seems like a bit of a retard.
You have position so why 3bet with a crap hand, just calldown, this idiot will bet the river again with cheese. |
Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
Very well played, charge that draw! Can't fold to a cap though I don't think. I have been reraising hands like this preflop with good results.

I like this against players who try to run you over. It'll teach them not to semibluff you to often on the expensive streets.

[/ QUOTE ] Whether you call or 3-bet the turn (especially if you 3-bet), there is no river card I would fold to against this opponent. I wouldn't care if 5 spades, 3 diamonds, and an A/K/J card all hit the river at the same time...she still gets called. |
Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
Our House,
Calling down with ANYTHING, regardless of what comes on the river, seems to playing right into her hands. Hery strategy is exploitable with discretion, not by becoming a calling station. If you're going to pay off her hits every time with cheese, you're turning her semibluff mistake into good play. This is why just calling is better, you don't want to bloat the pot and force yourself to call even when a bad card comes. |

No, if you fold a pair to her EVER, you're turning her semibluff into a good play. BTW, villain showed A2 off in that hand. Here's another hand from today with same villain. Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 3 folds, SB raises, Hero calls. Flop: (4 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls. Turn: (4 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. River: (6 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 12 BB Results in white below: SB has 4h Qc (one pair, nines). Hero has Js 9d (three of a kind, nines). Outcome: Hero wins 12 BB. Apparently playing back and/or flopping good against this villain absolutely enrages him. Therefore raising is +EV :P |

Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
he is probably my #1 favorite person to take money off of.

Re: Hand vs BeGoodTanya
I'd raise the flop. You are very likely to have the best hand and on this draw-heavy board, your raise will probably get no respect and even often get three-bet by worse hands.
