What would you do with $100million
 

...or a similarly obscene amount of money.

i know El Diablo probably has plans in the works already, but for the rest of us mortals that will almost certainly never see this amount of money in our bank accounts, what would you do?

I would open up a smallish cardroom that caters to poker players specifically...it would have an upscale dress code, and major aspects of the design would be wood and leather..it have to be designed in a way that, if frank sinatra, sammy davis jr, dean martin, joey bishop and peter lawford walked into the joint, they'd feel at home.

hmm what else...the high rollers section would have craps and blackjack, and it would have slots, but otherwise entirely poker.

I'd call the the ol' flamingo, or something:D

then i would spend the rest of the money paying saleries and keeping the place in shape.....sigh:D

not really. giving a couple million bucks of stuff just wouldnt be that much if I had 100 million dollars. And my girraffe farm would probably cost a lot, but once I start selling them, it will be a good asset.

- Buy several amazing homes around the world (Southern California, San Francisco, Sweden), large properties in rural Italy (maybe Tuscany), northern Australia, California, Vermont.

- Work my way into the jetset scene, using a rich, slighty older woman for a while if I have to.

- Ski trip at least once a month at the best places in the world.
- Trek the southern Himalayas, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, Borneo, The Caucasus, etc in style, staying at 5 star hotels and hiring porters.

- Go clubbing regularly in New York, London, Cali, Paris, Ibiza, get into coke and other nasties.

- Buy a yacht (say 20mil), nicely decked out.

That's for starters.

I'd start a charity fund.
Get a private jet.
Partner with venture capitalists to own startups.
I'd find a major project and work really hard at it.

I'd put enough in the bank in a simple savings account to ensure I don't go busto (say $5 million).

I would give a large lump sum to each of my family members so they dont ahve to work anymore (say $1 mil each, to each of my parents and 2 sisters).

So that's only $10 mil spoken for.

I would probalby hire a pimp financial investor and give him $40 mil to invest in very stable low-risk stuff (bonds, mutual funds, big stocks, very diversified)

and then i would take the other 50 million and say "this is my mad money for life" and spend it like on whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.

I'd buy a house in a few different cities, get season tickets to all my favorite sports teams, buy a few nice cars, enter all hte big poker buy in poker tournaments, etc.

Even doing all that I still probably wouldn't put a dent in the 50 mil.

Whatever I had left I would of course dedicate to doing as many chicks at the same time as possible.

I get this argument from my coworker all the time, she insists that it would be miserable to retire young and not have anything to work on. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard a smart person say.
