I just downloaded their software, which looks nice. However, they are still collecting rake according to the graphics they are showing on the tables (i.e., there are still chips going into the rake). The ads on the software claim that the site is rake free also.

Nevermind... I just noticed the stipulation about collecting the rake and then giving it back.

I think they deposit the amount of rake you pay into your account at the end of each week.

They say at the end of the week they return 100% of your rake back.They take it out but then give it all back!

They are hoping there will be some crossover from poker players to the sportsbook etc. The same way Party wants to convert us all to online casino players.

I have to wonder how long it will take for this to become the biggest rock garden out there though. With no rake, it shouldn't be tough to turn a profit, but I wonder if it will be any better than Party with rake, given the player quality.

At the moment, there's about one game going at each level in cash games (NL 10, NL 25, NL 200, .25/.50, .50/1, 1/2, 2/4, 3/6, 5/10, and 10/20), and each game looks relatively soft. The promotion or new permanent policy (whichever it is) has yet to make an impact it seems.

true if they said they'd return 97 or 98% of your rake-back...it would have the same effect as doing 100%, plus they'd get to make
a little profit...but heck, if they want to give us back all 100%, then fine, I say!

there has to be a "catch" to this...(probably the games won't be great as
"fish don't care about rake" and all 2 + 2ers will be playing there...)

In terms of integrity of the site, WSEX gets very high ratings from sports book review (SBR), and SBR is extremely tough on their grading, so we're dealing with a very well-run site.

The SBR site may have details on a bonus code.

My opinion of the promotion overall remains the same: A "no rake" advertisement is not going to attract the kind of players we want to play against.

because fish are stupid and get waaay more excited about getting $200 transfered into their account every week than not noticing they saved $200. "OMG THE MORE I PLAY THE MORE MONEY I GET BACK!!!". Kinda the same way retards get excited when a site raises the rake because now they will be getting more rakeback. I actually think this is much better than just not having a rake.

I just downloaded the software and the games look sparse but soft. I hope this site takes off. I don't even care if everyone there is a 2+2er, 100% rakeback is... well let me just say that if I were a chick I would need to change my panties.

WSEX has been around forever. Huge sportsbook. 100% legit.

I see just over 1k players now. I really hope they put a lot of effort into promoting this. If they can fill enough tables, I will put in some time there.

If they can generate enough rake and deposit it into an interest bearing account, they can easily make some decent income.

Party generates how many millions a day? That's a ton of interest.

I could be completely off, but it is a reason for them taking the rake then giving it back, and also gives them a way to generate income.

I played this site a year or so ago and the players were poor. This site actually had players so I don't know why they'd want to make it a free site. Strange.

Very good opportunity though to put some pressure on the major networks that have been raising rake regularly of late.

I'll def give it a second look now.

WPEX was spectulated to have BOTS in the past (and I like tacos as much as the other vets, mind you). they seemed pretty beatable when I played there over a year ago, but maybe they're looking to test them out on some new blood.
