I suppose that FTP is a fraudulent site. [Bumped from 4/2006]

I suppose that Full Tilt Poker is a fraudulent site.

Why?

Because I'm a professional player, and I have made some deposits to this site using ePassporte. I would like to play poker, but Full Tilt Poker closed my account, seized all my money and emailed me that my "...account has been closed due to fraudulent (!!!) activity or a relationship to an account with such."

All my requests were ignored, I asked to phone me or give me the contact information of the security department, but I had not received neither phone call nor email with contact phone.

I'm a “Selected Customer” at ePassporte, and I have special high level limits for my transactions at this site. I'm a VIP customer in some other poker rooms and I have a several years' experience of successful poker play both off-line and on-line.

Full Tilt Poker the first site in my practice where I have encountered extremely unfriendly and cynical attitude of support stuff to their customers.

I would like to advice all the poker players to be careful with this site.

So, I'm ready to post all my emails and replays from FTP.

I asked local poker players, and some reported that his account also been closed and his money was sized without explanations.

One of most famous Latvian poker player - Juris Osns has a closed account too.

if you have not played there in a long time, then they seem to have busted someone you were VERY close to. family member? player xfer recipient?

anyone you know that could have had trouble there? anyone from your IP perhaps?

Absolutely not!

I have created few gift accounts for my friends - poker players.

Juris Osns used gift account, but he completed verification process from ePassporte.

I have played from Olympic casino with my notebook when I played off-line tournaments, because Olympic offer free WiFi (wireless) Internet for poker players.

Many from our players also used this offer from Olympic casino and played online games at time of off-line poker tournaments.

I don't know a lot about IP, but may be this is source of our problems?

There is list of local player, who has problems with Full Tilt Poker:

Hi Skaits,

What do you mean by gift account?

Basically what I am getting at is if you have funded a players account either through a transfer on the site or by using your epassporte account and then that player does something fradulent and has his account shut then you will do too.

The Gift Account - is special offer from ePassporte
https://www.epassporte.com/holidayoffer/

Because some poker sites don't accept credit cards from Latvia, an ePassporte account is solution to deposits and withdrawals.

For few players I send gift ePassporte account to start playing at poker sites. I have not problems with others poker sites at all.

And I verified my ePassporte account by two credit cards and by special verification process. I'm using ePassporte more than a year.

I think the problem is in same IP by using WiFi at our Olympic Poker Club. But I'm not sure in this, because I have not received any explanation from Full Tilt Poker.

I think the problem is in same IP by using WiFi at our Olympic Poker Club.

when looked at independantly this is usually not a problem. however, this PLUS the epassporte connection is an indicator of possible collusion.

Re: I suppose that Full Tilt Poker is a fraudulent site.

I know nothing about the IP thing or the e-passporte thing.

However, I had one site (not full tilt) that would not let me register an account there because my IP supposedly had several accounts (or attempted accounts or something like that) already.

I had no idea what they were talking about as I had never been to that site before, nor do they have any skins.

So perhaps the IP thing has some merit.

But I suspect there could also be something to this e-passport 'funding friends' thing.

Re: I suppose that Full Tilt Poker is a fraudulent site.

It may be many suppositions about source of this problem. But no one from my suppositions doesn't help me to open my account and return my money.

Unfortunately Full Tilt Poker doesn't want to contact to his customers...

They could at least give you an explanation of what it was that they detected that they consider fraudulent.

It was probably a combination of the IP thing and funding but it would be nice to actually know.

Skaits,
Did they actually seize any money from you, or just close your account? From your email it looks like your account was inactive for a while, so you left money on it? If so how much? If they did not seize any money from you, get over it and play somewhere else. If you are legit, there are plenty of better sites than full tilt anyway, so you shouldn't care.

Re: I suppose that Full Tilt Poker is a fraudulent site.

Well ten bucks certainly isn't significant, and I have no idea if the OP is or is not involved in something fishy. At least it doesn't seem likely that this is one of those, create an uproar and maybe put pressure on the site to refund my seized chip dumping money posts.

However this, we won't tell you what you did wrong and furhther more we don't intend to ever respond to you again line is not something that engenders much confidence in a site.

My poker league recently started running weekly private tourney's on Full Tilt to get the prize pool up for our season ender freeroll and to give the folks low in the points standings more chances to luckbox their up the standings.

I had been planning on joining FT to play in the tourneys. I don't think I want to join a site with that kind of sketchy behavior.

either 1 of 2 things is possible here:

Well if you have a serious issue you could take it to the KGC. But if you really were involved in fraud they are not going to think highly of your case.

First Prima; now FTP. It's quite concerning that the only way that players seem to be able to get the attention of the "higher ups" in these sites is by making a fuss on poker forums.

I'd like to understand (before considering playing on FTP again) how such a gross error could be made by their staff. Clearly their procedures leave a lot to be desired -- you never get this crap from Stars, or at least if you do then they clearly state their reasons.

Re: Just received email that my account reopened. No excuse from FTP

I have supposition that it happened because I played poker in Olympic casino using public Wi-Fi service. So, may be I have got same IP address that another player on previous days.

But I'm sure this is not FRAUDULENT activity, of course.

For example, let's suppouse that you travel in another country or city. You would like to play poker at your Hotel or Airport using Wi-Fi point. In this case you may get same IP addres that another one on privious days.

Is it fraud?

CalvinTy 04-04-2006 04:18 PM

Re: Just received email that my account reopened. No excuse from FTP

Personally, IMO, regardless of "original cause", a CS representative at any poker site can't just reply to a client's email with comments such as:

(caps added for emphasis)

"....We do not tolerate fraudulent behavior. Your business is NO LONGER WELCOME at Full Tilt Poker."

"...your account has been CONFIRMED to be involved in FRAUDULENT activity. Your Full Tilt Poker account will remain PERMANTENTLY CLOSED. Please understand that we may NOT RESPOND to future emails regarding this issue."

Then, to top it off, without any apparent explanation by Full Tilt on *WHY* this particular client's account was initially closed, nor *WHY* they chose to re-open the account, they just informed that the account is active again as if nothing happened. Amazing.

"...to confirm that your account has been REOPENED at this time.....Thank you for your COOPERATION in CLEARING up this situation...."

Either a CS representative at Full Tilt saw this forum or was pointed to this forum... in either case, if Full Tilt want to keep business, they have to explain this horrible communication on their part... or we here at 2p2 can "assume it could happen to any of us at any time" which they wouldn't want us to think that way....
