okey, in return for you guys sending me last year, i am going to try and return the favor for another forum member..

Maybe a mod will sticky this for us for a few days???

All we need to do to send tribefan9 to the WSOP is to make sure he finishes in the top five of the Bodog All-Stars Competition. There are currently 25 contestants and the top five get seats in the main event. The competition is essentially a popularity contest, so tribe needs every 2+2er with a Bodog account to log in and vote for him.

In return for the Zoo’s help in sending him to the WSOP, tribefan9 is offering all of his 2+2 supporters a 15% stake in his winnings in the main event. After his big score in the tournament, I will be helping him in organizing a freeroll to give his winnings back to the zoo. Even if he does not cash in the tournament he will be holding a $500 freeroll as a way to thank 2+2 for sending him to the WSOP. He has already sent me the $500 to hold for the freeroll so there should be no worries about his following through on his word.

Of course i FULLY expect he will win the $10,000,000 grand prize, which means a $1,500,000 freeroll for us. Not a bad deal for just logging in and voting.

All you have to do to be eligible for the freeroll is vote for tribe through the Bodog software and make a post in this thread letting everyone know that you are one of his supporters in his trek to the WSOP. If you do not feel comfortable sharing your Bodog screen name in your post, tribefan9 will be collecting them through PM. These names will be kept confidential and only be used to make sure the freeroll only includes his voters.

To vote for tribefan9, you need to login to your Bodog account and go to the Multi Table Tournaments – Special tab. At the bottom of the list there is a tournament labeled “Vote for: tribefan9 – All Star Nominee”. These are not real tournaments and will simply serve as a voting mechanism. You need to have 60 poker points in your account to register, but you will get the points back at the competition. Contestants with the lowest vote totals will be periodically eliminated from the competition, but you only need to vote once. Once you vote it will be locked in for the duration of the tournament.

Lets show tribefan9 how strong the zoo support can be!!

The freeroll is 15% of *any* winnings, correct? also, i think the freeroll should be structured that anyone in it wins something and not top heavy. just my 2 cents, good luck!

I am not exactly sure what you mean by *any* winnings, but just to clarify, the prize pool will be funded by 15% of any prize I recieve in the main event. If I win $20,000 there will be a $3,000 freeroll. More likely I will be winning at least a million and throwing a freeroll of $150,000+. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

As mentioned above, if I win the seat and fail to make it into the money I will be funding a $500 freeroll out of my pocket to thank everyone that sent me there.

I agree that the freeroll should have a fairly flat structure, and will do what I can to make that happen. More info on the freeroll will follow.

If this is going to work, we'll really need to rock the vote. It seems like most of Bodog's donks are just voting for the names at the top alphabetically. Starting with T is big disadvantage for this thing.

I agree that my name being last alphabetically has not helped. I think part of ari's lead could be attributed to being first on the list, but he is also very popular. He used to sit down at 20/40 limit games with $100,000 to get the attention of railbirds.

Anyone have any ideas for how to "rock the vote"? I have been mentioning it at tables that I play on Bodog, perhaps those of you that still play there could mention it too.

The voting is really starting to pick up steam. Currently in 11th place, 74 votes out of fifth place and a WSOP seat.

No, you need to get into the software to vote. I guess the way around it would be to log in from a friends computer if you know anyone who still has it installed.

A slight hi-jack, but since there are Bodog users here, I can probably get a quick answer. I have seen al the threads about how crappy the software update was. I was told that they have a new update coming very soon to hopefully fix things. Any truth to that?

I was told over the phone by a supervisor from the poker room on Tuesday night that they expected to have the ability to choose between the current tabbed style for multitabling and a more traditional style with tables in seperate windows. She also said that those tables would be resizable. She expects the update to roll out within a month. I still find the software to be somewhat unstable, but not as bad as it was when the first made the change.

Who knows what will really happen, but that is the latest news I have heard.

Mike Haven has asked me to explain the practicalities of getting to the point of him being able to vote, from his current standing of not being a Bodog account-holder. So here it is for everyone’s benefit.

If you don't yet have a Bodog account but would like to show your support for me and be eligible for the freeroll of up to $1.5 Million, here are the steps you need to take:

Step 1 - Sign up for an account on Bodog. This can be achieved by either going directly to bodog.com and hitting the link that says “Join” in the upper right, or by signing up through one of the advertisers in the Affiliate Forum. Bodog offers a 10% bonus on initial deposits as well as all subsequent reloads. I am not an affiliate so I do not have information on offers that they might be able to make.

Step 2 - Once you have created a bodog account, go to the poker section of the website and download the poker software. When you log into the poker software you will notice that you have already earned 50 poker points for signing up. You need a total of 60 to vote.

Step 3 – Earn ten poker points. Again you have some options. Full details on how to earn poker points can be found here. If you were to make a deposit and play in real money games, the points can be earned by playing just a few rounds since you get one point for each hand where you contribute money to the pot and the rake is $1 or more. Partial points are given for hands that are raked less than a dollar. Please note that Bodog counts contributed hands, so you only earn points where you put money into the pot. Blinds and antes count as contributing money.

Tournament fees also earn poker points at a rate of 3 points per dollar in fees paid.

Point totals are updated every five minutes.

The final option to earn poker points can be found on the same page on Bodog’s website. Players are awarded 1 poker point for every hour spent playing on the site (including tourneys and play money games). You do not need to ever make a deposit to earn points in this way.

Step Four – Vote for Tribe! As mentioned in Granny’s original post: To vote for tribefan9, you need to login to your Bodog account and go to the Multi Table Tournaments – Special tab. I know this explanation ran a little long, but it is really very simple. Just create an account, play a little poker (try and run good [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]), and then vote. The steps that will come later include rooting me on in my quest for the final table then winning some of my money in the freeroll!
