button is 58/22/1, SB 31/17/2 UTG folds, button calls, SB completes, hero raises, both call Flop: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks, Hero bets, button calls, SB calls Turn: 7s SB checks, hero bets, button folds, SB raises, hero calls (?) River: Kd Hero...?? |
Re: Turn decesion
Shouldn't the SB be acting first here on the river? I assume we're getting bet into here, and I'd call.
Edit: Sorry, I guess you're asking about the turn. Having the river in there threw me a bit. The turn c/r is concerning, but an aggressive player here could have a 6, 7, a lower PP, or even 67 as often as the problem 5. I'm calling down. |
Re: Turn decesion
Oops sorry yes, SB bets river.

SB bets river. [/ QUOTE ] Easy call. |
Re: Turn decesion
The decision is on the turn - if I call I'm seeing a showdown. I don't think I call the turn.
|
Re: Turn decesion
I call turn because there are two flush draws out there now.
|
Re: Turn decesion
easy river call, there are a lot of draws that wiffed and about the only thing that beats you is a 5 or unlikely rivered K.
|
Re: Turn decesion
Not calling the turn is pretty bad.
I would three bet the turn and fold to a cap. This looks a lot to me like a player who picked up a draw or now has a really strong draw and wants to try to blow out the field. |

Re: Turn decesion
The raise is fine. He doesn't have a 5 or 89 more times than he'll have a flush draw or OESD or a total bluff. So what if he folds? We have TT and the pot is huge - we don't want to get outdrawn on the river.
The problem is that our hand is very transparent here and he might cap e.g. with a pair+draw. So against a very agressive player the turn raise might become more expensive especially if you happen to fold the best hand. |
Re: Turn decesion
call the turn raise, I don't like the raise for the reasons mentioned above. I want to get to showdown.
|
Re: Turn decesion
SB stats tell me he's a pretty good player. I think calling is better than raising turn.
If he has the 5 it's going to get expensive. If he doesn't have the 5 and is semi-/bluffing you then you want to encourage his bet on the river. A reraise on the turn might chase him out. |
