I was wondering about this book. Is it a good read?
I heared the title of it on this site. I looked around some book stores for it but no luck.

If you mean the book by Matt Hilger than most people consider it to be solid but not great. Certainly worth a read.

I think it's a great book for playing online poker.

It is an ok book, the basics are explained in a straightforward way

I remember Mathew Hilger saying on the ITH webpage, that he would recommed the first two books that you read to be ITH and SSHE, he then continued that SSHE teaches aggression, which in turn leads to bigger bankroll swings

It is a decent book .. especially if you read SSHE afterwards.

This was one of the first books I ever read on the subject of playing Holdem correctly. I cannot tell you what an aid and asset it has been to my learning the game. If you are new to the game then this will get you thinking the right way. Also the starting hands charts were worth the price of the book. For a new player, it really helped you stay out of situations that someone new can find themselves in.

And the forum and website are great too, so if you can't find it in the stores check Amazon.com or you can order it from the website too.

This was the first book I read, and it is defo one of my top four, along with both the Harrington's and SSHE. Buy it.

It is one of the best beginner books, along with Getting Started in Holdem and Winning Low Limit Holdem, 3rd edition. Haven't seen Byron Jacobs beginner book, but it should be a good one too

It was my second poker book. Some garbage Ken Warren book was my first. I unlearned all the bad advice that douchebag spewed pretty quickly with ITH. ITH is way easier to deal with than SSHE for a beginner. Recommend ITH, SSHE, HEPFAP.

Its THE best book for beginners trying to learn online as it covers some of the other aspects of the online game besides just straight poker. (Multi-tabling, bonuses, etc.) It shouldn't be the ONLY book you ever read, but if you're playing online you'll want to have this one.

When I started playing poker, I bought two books. Winning Low Limit Holdem by Lee Jones and Internet Texas Holdem by Matthew Hilger.

I read, read and reread ITH and it made me a winning player.

There are some pretty advanced stuff in it and I don't consider it "only" a good beginner's book. It's great for beginners, but advanced players will gain knowledge from it also.

For people who want the book: You can find it on Amazon, you can buy it with Party Poker points and Absolute Poker Points. I don't know if there are other online poker room you can buy it, but I saw it in those two places.

GSIH, ITH and SSHE (in that order) is my path of learning/studying poker, and I'm loving it. Some might want to add WLLHE somewhere, while others will avoid WLLHE at any cost.

Stars has it as well, but I'd get it with absolute points since they're not really good for anything else :-)

I have the Jacobs book - it is excellent for the beginner IMO. Teaches you the key concepts in a very clear way. Lots of practice tests too. It's well written, paced and laid out. It's perfect to read before SSHE.
