Andy Beal NOT a billionaire?

So I was perusing through the latest edition of the Forbes Billionaire List to see how I rank when I noticed that sometime donator to the Corporation, Andrew Beal, was not listed. It has been reported in various parts that Mr. Beal has a poker bankroll approaching $1 billion dollars. If that were true, he should be listed after Heinz Bauer on this page:

Forbes billionaire list sorted alphabetically by name

How much has Beal lost now to the Corporation? My rough guesstimate is that it's at least $50 million, which means Beal has lost at least 5% of his net worth to the Corporation.

Does anyone know how much Beal is actually worth? Maybe he is gambling with more of his personal fortune than some of us had previously thought.

As an aside, another thing I found interesting about the list is that the five Walton family members on the list are worth a combined $80 billion. To put that in perspective, the top man on the list, Bill Gates, is only worth $50 billion.

I doubt his poker bankroll is over a billion, meaning I doubt he'd sell off his entire company to continue playing heads up.

Re: Andy Beal NOT a billionaire?

Andy Beal is a businessman based out of Dallas, Texas. He's not a billionaire, but is reportedly worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The bank he owns, Beal Bank, is private so his exact net worth is not known. He's not a professional poker player, but he does like to play high stakes limit heads up--normally 20,000/40,000 to 50,000/100,00 but up to 100,000/200,000. He plays against a group of the top pros in Vegas who combine their bankroll to play against him. It's estimated that he has lost about $50 million to them (Brunson, Harman, Forest, etc.). It was documented in a recent book by Michael Craig. I think it's titled The Banker, Professor, and Suicide King.

He doesn't have a bankroll. FWIW another reason you might not see him on forbes list is that everyone on that list submits information on their holdings that forbes verifies to put them on there. If you don't submit all they can go by is public filings.

I don't think I would deposit money into a bank that is privately owned by someone who is losing millions at poker.

Beal has lost 26million over 4 years to the corp. If you read the report from This last match they just had you would see it says that at the begining of it Beal was down 20mil lifetime vs. the corp. then in end he left another 6mil down to ivey.

fdic covers 100% up to 100k then it covers a certain percentage around 90% for any additional money you may have in a bank.

Beal bets 200,000,000. Dikshit calls. Two players going to the flop, Dikshit covers.
