Re: Friday NCAAF

I've got a hedging/middling opportunity with Boise St./Hawaii

I took BSU +3.5 as the 3rd and remaining leg of a 3 team parlay. 2 to win 12.

I could hedge the Hawaii ML, lock up a win, and go for a middle.

Or I just gamble.

thoughts?

What Hedging... That word in foreign to me... Do u think all the people who hedged the Mansion 1k free bet on the Steelers last year were happy with the hedge?? But hey, its your money.

So far Nebraska looks really good. But my NCAAF this year has been awful. Heres to doing well today.

Nebraska +3
LSU -13.5
BSU +2.5
TAMU +7
TAMU/UT o59.5

All 1 unit.

Hawaii -2.5, 1u. Too many Broncos fans, this line was 5.5-6 when it opened, LV is better than that LDO.

Re: Friday NCAAF

Just before the season opened last year, Mansion had a promo that if you bet 1k on Pitt Steelers ( point spread-- I think it was 7 or 7.5 ) they would refund your money if you lost... You had to bet 1K ( no more .. no less) ...the promo filled u quickly and they closed it a few days after it was announced.... Many people who bet 1k on the steeler to cover hedged the bet with another book to lock in a sure win ( say bet 500 on the other team to guarantee $500 profit)... Others took the 1k freeroll.... The Pit Steelers covered the gam and most of us won the full 1k.. Those who hedged did not win the full 1k...

Re: Friday NCAAF

internetdonk, thanks..... i thought maybe it was worse (i.e. that you couldn't get your money out).... i agree on hedging. it's less risk for less possible return. and hindsight's 20/20 after you have hedged. but good on those who didn't.

Re: Friday NCAAF

i played hawaii -2.5... haven't researched too much, but i think hawaii has monstrous home advantage (as does boise, but not at home in this game... maybe overrated on road).... hawaii gets bcs bid with win.... i think they'll be rarin' to go. with surprised how late boise got to hawaii... BTW, last night it turned out i went with my gut instinct and USC and won. but everyone was on ASU, it seemed. feel somewhat the same here, although i guess a bunch jumped on hawaii as the line moved.

Those were the days. Good bonuses, Neteller to move money around, only sites like Betfair hated us American sports bettors.

Sigh those were the days. I didn't hedge my account but the wife did. She hates the Steelers.

Did refer over 150 people to Mansion for the promo. Enjoyed being responsible for them giving away $150K + to 2+2ers.

I know this is technically a past post, but since Hawaii has the lead, I wanted to say that I've got 2.9u on the Boise ML. I've been drinking with the fanily for Thanksgiving, so I didn't get around to posting it earlier.

Boise actually won time of possession in the game

After the Broncos first td run, Hawai'i never surrendered a run over 15 again IIRC

thanks... i did check that after i posted and was surprised... but checking back every few minutes, i barely saw boise with the ball in the second half (but of course, the gamecast could have been wrong)

Boise had nearly double Hawaii's TOP IIRC sometime in the 4th. It probably evened up as Hawaii killed the clock near the end.

from the sounds of it, the gamecast was just completely off vis a vis the possession. probably was stuck on hawaii. sorry for the fuss (if you don't know, gamecast is espn's detailed statistical description of the game)

again, sorry for bringing this up when it was simply wrong.
