Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
I currently use NiMH AA rechargeables for my XBox 360. But I'm disappointed in the shelf life. E.g., last week, I charged them up. I haven't turned on my 360 since then. Last night, I turn it on, and the batteries die within 5 minutes.
I know that NiMH batteries self-discharge, so, although my batteries are probably faulty (they usually last a lot longer), this will happen to all NiMH batteries sooner or later. That's what worries me about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360--they are NiMH. So one would think that the battery life would be no better than I get now out of rechargeable AAs. So does anyone here have experience in comparing AAs to the Rechargeable Battery Pack? |

Personally I think a big pack of batteries work the best. The rechargeable batteries just don't last nearly as long. A pack of 16 batteries will last a very long time.

Re: Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
I just recently switched from rechargable batteries to the battery packs. I haven't noticed any major difference in life, but there's one huge advantage to the battery packs. You can charge them while you play. Never have to deal with removing the batteries/etc. Takes about 10 seconds to start charging them if you notice you're running low while playing. So much more convienant.

Re: Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
I got the battery pack (as opposed to the play & charge kit) and I think it's great. I have two packs so if one goes busto then I swap it out and charge it while I use the other one. Don't have to buy batteries for controllers anymore.

Get a plug n play kit, you can charge while you play if the batteries run low. Saves you flaffing about changing batteries in the middle of a game.

Re: Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
Does anyone know if they make a black play and charge kit? I have the elite 360 and black controllers and my OCD won't let me have white xbox accessories...

Re: Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
I have the black kit, I think it was $5 more but maybe that was just the controller, not sure.

Yes, they have a black one. That's what I use and they are awesome. They last a long time and if you are running low, just plug it in and keep playing.

Sweet. It's definitely time for me to go get a couple of these then. My controller quit out as we were battling for a 49-49 race and I died and lost us the match cuz of the controller dying

Re: Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
Why would anyone not use the plug and play method?

Re: Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
ya using real batteries is not cool

Re: Qs about the rechargeable battery pack for the 360
Anyone not buying the play and charge kit is wasting time and money. It's cheaper than regular batteries in the long run and easier to use than both regular and rechargeable batteries.
