$16 - KK, ace hits for a change
I did not want to scare them both away by squeezing preflop, so I raised to 600 and hoped at least 1 would call.
Then an ace flopped and the short stack pushed. Can I assume one of them has an ace and fold the flop? Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
I'd call SB bet on the flop, fold if raised by MP1.
[EDIT] I mean most of the time one of them has an Ace, but these are too good odds to fold. |
Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
I think to it's pretty sure one of them as an ace, maybe both. I would fold, like you have played

I'm with Rex on this one.

Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
I think i would of shoved pre flop.
i hate the idea of putting 600 of my 1400ish stack in pre. If you shove you pick up 7bbs with out a fight most of the time and sometimes you will get called when you are way ahead. As played i would call sb and call if MP1 shoved just because of pot odds. Then say gg and open another sng. |
Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
I think shoving pre is good for protecting weaker hands we might shove with.

Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
SB is calling very often if we shove, so get it in. Not only do you risk an A flopping but you miss out on value sometimes as well.

Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
I think we lose value by shoving.
Non of them were regs and shoving has more FE. At least MP1 will fold after squeezing a lot and I see (donk) SB fold as well. |
Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
The SB calls so often when we shove & folds to the big RR when he isn't, so we do lose a lot of value by not shoving. If he called the RR, he is calling the shove.

Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
Easy to say after the hand is done.
I am still pretty sure donks call a raise easier when they have some money in the pot than a shove for their whole stack. |

shove preflop

Re: $16 - KK, ace hits for a change
I like shoving not because I fear the ace but because most of the time they will miss the flop after calling your raise and get away from some hands that they would have called your shove with, while calling if they hit (which will usually be when they hit an A).
Also if they aren't total retards they will call the shove more often anyway because everybody sees it as a "squeeze", but who knows, most people are bad. |
