Re: Bought some CDs today.
I can't even guess what word you're censoring, but can I buy it at a sex shop?
|
Re: Bought some CDs today.
You bought these all new I am guessing? Why?
|
Re: Bought some CDs today.
Well. I had like 4,000 songs on my computer, quite a few of which I've never listened to ever. These were mostly from P2P/irc etc. with some stuff from Itunes as well. My hard drive failed. I have a pretty serious headphone setup now and it's just 100,000 times easier to get exactly what I want this way, and I'm not downloading 5 copies of 1 song or waiting 6 weeks for another one.
Also some of this stuff is like near-impossible to get via P2P eg Califone. Almost all of them are new. A couple weren't even carried by Amazon(to give you an idea of how hard they are to obtain) so I had to buy them used through the new/used section of Amazon, whatever it's called. |
Re: Bought some CDs today.
buy? CDs? explain this concept..

Re: Bought some CDs today.
LOL LOOK AT ME I USE [censored] WOW

Re: Bought some CDs today.
those two jens lekman albums are great. his best is "oh youre so silent jens" though imo
|
Re: Bought some CDs today.
You've got some Lekman in there eh?
First album is awesome, new one...hasn't really grown on me yet. Other than that...decent taste, but wtf is up with RHCP? |
Re: Bought some CDs today.
serious beat dude
|
Re: Bought some CDs today.
What do you mean? You don't like them? I don't really like much hard music if you haven't noticed and they're reasonably low-key in their newer stuff. Californication is probably my favorite album by them.
I already own Oh you're so Silent Jens. |

[/ QUOTE ] I didn't mean anything about downloading, I meant why didn't you buy a lot of them used? You can get most CD's pretty damn cheap and a lot of them are brand new. |
Re: Bought some CDs today.
Oh. Damn.
Haha. I wasn't really looking but most of them on Amazon were like $14 or something and a lot of them said buy used from $8.99 or something. A $200 difference here doesn't make a ton of difference to me and they'll all work. I do enjoy going to FYE sometimes and just buying the redtag CDs(used) I've found some good bands that way. Mostly horrible ones though. |
Re: Bought some CDs today.
I buy all my media used, no reason to purchase it new. Urban Hymns was a medicore cd, after hearing Bitter Sweet Symphony it was below my expectations for the band.
RHCP - you've heard all the songs hundreds of times, I'd advice against it. Try David Bowie - Low, it's not something you may like, but its different from what you have in your cart. |
Re: Bought some CDs today.
Strictly,
I've only had one cd that gave me trouble in the several hundred closing in on one-thousand albums I've purchased. |

Re: Bought some CDs today.
The hate against OP's decision to buy brand new cd's is stupid. Most of this stuff can be purchased with like $10 and such a nice pile of cd's bought with five hundo isn't that big if youre not a high school student who plays NL10 for a living.
I always buy my records new if theyre available. I do buy used ones too but some of those have been in bad shape. Buying new cd's is also a lot more easier, you just click what you want or select it from your local music store and take it home with you. In case you want to buy everything used you have to use some efforts in finding all that. Vinyls are a different thing, you cant get everything new and most of the good material was made in the 60's and 70's. |

Re: Bought some CDs today.
I bought a Jamiroquai album lately.
High Times: Singles 1992-2006 And Abba for my mom. |
Re: Bought some CDs today.
The modest mouse ones are good choices, except for Sad Sappy Sucker...you kinda suck for buying that. amazon reviews ftw
|
Re: Bought some CDs today.
I LOVE Sad Sappy Sucker. In fact I almost hate you for saying that album sucked.
This has nothing to do with morals really. Mostly sound quality. If Itunes offered their music in a better format than their DRM you-don't-own it lossy AAC [censored] quality I would have been all over that because buying on iTunes is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy. I'm uploading in wav format to my computer(Brag: 1TB drive and a 150GB Raptor) and leaving it that way. The Ipod will probably just have the songs in Apple Lossless as wav REALLY kills battery life. |
Re: Bought some CDs today.
lol, "bought"
must be a balla if you can afford to buy CDs |
