Kinda Wild

My friend was a pilot and died 2 years ago in a plane crash. He left behind a wife and 3 small kids...terrible thing.

Anyway, the youngest was 1 at the time and it was in October that his dad died. Last October he started pulling his hair out during that month. Then he quit at winter. He did it again this October.

I just find that really wild. I guess his system knows somehow..maybe associates the leaves changing with the drama..idk.

He probably has no memory of the event. He is picking up on the anniversary stress of his Mom and other family members and is actively responding to their behavior.

He'd have to be a very advanced 1 year old to have been affected by that. The most likely scenario is that yes, he's reacting to the stress people around him are exhibiting.

It's gotta be a curse. Do an exorcism before people start getting dismembered.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I think he's sensing, and reacting to, the increased stress level of those around him.

I'm grunching the thread, so sorry if this has already been said.

Has anyone mentioned that I think he's sensing, and reacting to, the increased stress level of those around him? Because he is picking up on the anniversary stress of his Mom and other family members and is actively responding to their behavior. He'd have to be a very advanced 1 year old to have been affected by that. The most likely scenario is that yes, he's reacting to the stress people around him are exhibiting.

Also, it's gotta be a curse. Do an exorcism before people start getting dismembered.

skunk,

You picked a terrible thread to grunch. All that stuff was suggested already.

um, I hate to rain on the idiot parade here, but he's not reacting to stress around him... he's obviously a magic baby

i will say this, some of our foster kids, who have been away from their families for years, lose their [censored] every year around the time they were removed from the home, or around some other painful anniversary that occured before they could cognitively have understood it. trauma has serious, lasting neurological effects on children, it's actually not far out there at all for this kid to have some kind of internal pathology at work here in addition to picking up cues from those around him.

I couldn't be bothered to look at all the responses so far but trauma has serious, lasting neurological effects on children, it's actually not far out there at all for this kid to have some kind of internal pathology at work here in addition to picking up cues from those around him. I have noticed this in many of our foster kids.

Haven't read the responses, but something similar happened to my brother. Our dad died in a plane crash, and every year he pulled his hair out in a circle the size of an orange.

We just assumed he was picking up on the stress and anxiety from our mother and other family members.

I can't believe OOT has so much experience with orphan babies.

A friend of mine's cousin's hairdresser died, and every year on the anniversary an orange fell out of his head. Turns out he was reacting to the stress around him.

Guys, quit with the repeats. All these posts are creating a stressful environment for me.

Re: Kinda Wild

the baby is magic

it's probably a haunted baby

better kill it to be safe

use a shovel

then feed it to a giant hill of ants

if it's truly a magic baby it will rise in flames and destroy you

otherwise oh well

what's one more dead baby anyway?

one less set of lungs made by the government to steal our air

(babies suck)

Re: Kinda Wild

*Grunch*

I think the kid is just sensing the stress the rest of the family is exhibiting and pulling out hair is just the kid's response.

My dad was actually a pilot and he died when I was 11 and my brother was 1. Every year we get together and had a "Dad Died Let's Rip Out Our Hair Day Celebration!" It's great fun actually, once the oranges stop falling out of our heads.

Hey guys has anyone considered that maybe the baby is responding to the stress levels of those around him LDO?
