Re: Howard Stern listening thread

I listen online pretty religiously, but havn't this week, did Artie/Sal have a fight today (Wed.) or something? If so I'll listen to the midnight replay.

I love Artie, hate Sal. But Sal probably brings more classic moments to the show when he [censored] up.

Good call making a stern show thread Sublime, i'll def be down for some Stern show discussion.

Haha I'm catching the end of the wrap-up show now, and it sounds like an all time great. Artie is just killing him.

sal whined yesterday on wrap up show about how artie gets away w murder (sleeping, calling in sick) and its not fair that sal himself gets reprimanded for every little thing he does.

it gets brought up today and artie calls him talentless and such....escaltes to screaming match and sal saying artie is a luckbox basically and all his movie sucks etc....artie says he is going to wiat outside and beat him up...says he hopes his kids get aids...lol ...i am not doing it justice.

Re: Howard Stern listening thread

If you aren't getting a good signal then you can listen to it online from sirius.com if you have your login name/pass.

I missed it to, or I'd give you cliff notes.

I missed it as well but if it's that good it'll be put on Howard TV and I'll watch it then.

The show's been pretty meh over the last couple of weeks or so IMO. Howard to me, at times, sounds like he's bored with the whole thing.

I listened to most of the show today and thought it was a little boring. Missed the fight today, hopefully it comes on right now. "Gary cries on the air" is the part their on now. Hopefully it's after that?

I listened to Howard Stern for 10 years when he was on public airwaves. Haven't been able to listen to him since his move to Sirius because I had to choose which sattelite station I wanted to get and went with XM. Anyone have any idea if the Sirius/XM merge is going to happen? I miss Stern he was the best thing on radio...

RedAsh 11-01-2007 07:24 AM

Re: Howard Stern listening thread

im listening. yesterday was great, [censored] Sal, most experts say the merger will go through, the NAB has spend millions and million to fight it and thats whats holding it up. Cant belive anyone would buy XM over Sirius. its the same [censored] only 1 has Howard and 1 dont

OK, no Howard hate, but Artie is such a hack. I think his stand-up is atrocious.

So I only caught the aftermath of the CD throwing incident, but it sucks. I really like Artie...he makes the show ten times better than it used to be with Jackie. At the same time, I like what Sal brings to the show, and love him or hate him, he's good for the show. I hope they can get past this and return to normal next week.

Re: Howard Stern listening thread

I might be the only one, but I'm actually on Sal & Richard's side on this. Ever since Artie started his diet, he's been super-grumpy. First he goes off on High-pitch Mike, then he argues with Howard about being a better gift receiver than him, then the whole Sal fight.

I love Artie on the show, but he is being a real dick this week. And, to flat out say that someone is talentless and that you truly hate them is just uncalled for.

It makes for great radio though.

Re: Howard Stern listening thread

Richard would have been ok if he wasn't so annoying about his bits and getting passive aggressive. Artie is in a bitchy mood as he's trying to lose weight and should be given some sort of pass, not have Sal or HPM up his ass.

BTW, Sal's HPM lazy eye was the funniest thing I have seen on HowardTV in awhile.

Re: Howard Stern listening thread

Caught the fight on last night's replay...very entertaining. Artie just sounds like he is looking for an excuse to quit. At this point, I'd be surprised if he's still there when 2009 rolls around.

I'm probably biased because I'm an Entourage superfan, but today's interview with Kevin and Adrian was outstanding. It's almost unfair how well they live. Also, I've been told that I look like Kevin, so it gives me the tiniest glimmer of hope that I could get a 19 year old that looks like this:

I'm not a big Entourage fan (but I've seen several episodes times). Was it just me, or was Adrian the worst interview ever? He did nothing but give one word answers. Howard had to totally carry the conversation. The other guy (Turtle, I think) was a great guest. He had some great stories, he told them well, and he actually gave specific names and facts, instead of just vaugue answers. You could tell that Howard was getting pissed at that Adrian guy.

Yeah, Adrian didn't give much, though I thought he opened up quite a bit about threesomes and the women he's been with recently. I didn't think Adrian was any more tight-lipped than 90% of the celebrities that come in there, though. Kevin (E from Entourage) was a great guest in every way, and I'm impressed with the women he's been able to get.

Seriously. It's like he knows he would be nuts to quit, yet he'd love to get fired.

[ QUOTE ]

I often wonder the same thing. Partially, I think it is because he has a soft spot for Artie.

However, I suspect the real reason is that he doesn't want to go through another spell like the one he endured when Jackie left. There was an empty void without Jackie in that chair, one that came across the airwaves loud and clear. The show sounded dead without Martling.

Craig Gast had his moments, but it was ultimately Artie who administered the breath of life that saved what seemed to be a dying show.

Gotta love the chutzpah exhibited by Artie while "reaching out" to Richard and Sal.

[ QUOTE ]
Artie noted that he gets treated better than (and paid more than) Sal and Richard because he's smarter, funnier, and “better at every aspect of this business.” Artie said it wasn't his problem - just something Sal and Richard were going to have to deal with privately.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was really loling when Richard started to cry. I gotta admit, though, that it made me feel kinda uncomfortable to hear it. Also, Artie's comment on Sal trying to compare a three minute film about Robin's tw*t to Beer League was pure gold.

The show has really been on fire lately.

BTW, could somebody fill me in on Gary's dislike for Gina Gershon? I heard last weeks stuff multiple times, but I only caught a few seconds of her appearance on the Wrap-Up Show. I have searched all over the place, but I keep coming up dry.
