Anyone? what line would you take?

Re: Check Call the river?

I would c/f the river, not much value to be gained from betting and hands that beat you are unlikely to be turned into bluffs

Re: Check Call the river?

yeah unless he's terrible or you have some type of crazy image theres no way he's calling the river shove with anything you beat. c/f to any type of bet, it's not like he could have a draw that missed and is bluffing.

As for your line, I'd bet more on the flop and less on the turn.

I agree with this, especially against an unknown.

river shove is bad, c/f to shove. call if he bets like a retard.

well you may very well be ahead of his range of hands that he got to the river with... but theres no chance in hell you're ahead of the range of hands that he'll call your river bet with.

c/f river. only hand you beat is AQ/KQ

Re: Check Call the river?

Stepping through the action on turn moving into the river, I think after he calls you turn bet his range is actually ahead (approx 60% to your 40%) IMO. I would treat the 9 on the river (4 to straight) as a blank as it would give him the straight with a very small % of his range (q10 and 10 10). Both these of these are very unlikely holdings for the villian assuming he is not retarded.

Moving to river, i C/c small bet, but usually c/f here.

Re: Check Call the river?

To people who would take the c/f line,

do you guys check/fold most of the top pair hand when a dangerous river comes?

jacbmw 10-29-2007 11:19 PM

Re: Check Call the river?

that is a pretty broad question. In this circumstance, This river looks dangerous, but given the action and his hand range i think it is pretty harmless and can almost be treated as a blank.

I would be inclined check folding this river without the 9 falling.

Agreed guys?

His range lines up very well with the board. I'm expecting villain to have two pair or a straight and occasionally a set.

thanks for the input guys.. looking back c/f or c/c were much better options. Ive still got that problem of overvauling overpairs... working on it
