my gut instinct is to call, since i don't think he takes this flop/turn line with any hand that includes a shove-worthy diamond... really i want to know if i'm out of line in calling.

Why can't he have the ace of diamonds?

okay, so the ace being the only non-diamond on the board makes it sketchy... what do YOU do here? this is what i'm really trying to find out.

what part of his flop calling and turn flat calling range do you think the ace of diamonds constitutes, given he's not really likely to show up with any other one-diamond hands? does that make it a call? fold? +/-?

I fold and also bet a bit more on the turn.

I agree with the former but not the latter. If we bet more on the turn we are more likely to be priced in on the river if we don't want to call. However, with the bet size amount we still have a comfortable PSB left.

with that board, the turn bet has to be whatever lets us get shove a PSB on the river or close to it anyway, end is a fold, but bet more on turn imo

Villain has $26 into $41 with the current bet sizing, if we make it more on the turn we're looking at $20 into $50 where we have a much tougher decision and may have to call.

^^i get what ur saying sciolist, but i'm banking on the river being a non-diamond most of the time and since it usually is, i want the stacks going in...

obv if it's a diamond, it sux and we have to make a read here, but on the turn, i want to prepare to shove comfortable on the river imo

We basically agree, but I would say that $26 into $42 is a comfortable shove

I'd rather have money in the pot now. If you want to prepare a comfortable shove, you should try to make it as easy as possible. MP will call more money on the turn and it doesn't change their range. If they want to take the rope you need to give it to them.

sorry scio, i misunderstood ur post, i thought u were holding back on turn in case river was a diamond, but i guess we were just different on bet sizing to get the money in

your flop raise is too small.

turn bet more for value. he's calling $14 as often he is calling $12 so you should bet more.

As played fold he's not calling the turn with a 2/3 pot bet remaining to bluff a river diamond.

As played fold the river you are beat more then 60% of the time. Bet more on the turn. If he has an ace of diamonds you gave him almost perfect odds to call you if he thinks he can take your remaining money if he catches which it sounds like he did. I would bet $16-20 on the turn. Fold preflop

Pot the flop. Flop raise is terrible.

Had you done that, turn would have been an easy shove.

If you gonna raise the flop, raise more
