PokerTableScan also offers player and table filters that will help you to select your table. Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
That looks like a useful piece of software. Anyone tried it?
Is there a free demo available? |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
How I am supposed to test this to make sure it works when I can't use it without registering.
Not giving money away without knowing it works for me. |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Yea right....no way am I registering automatically..Make it free for a month, then make us register or something like that.
|
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Fair enough.
The truth, guys, is i just don't know how to technically implement a trial period in my software. I would like to though. I will try to work on it, but to solve the problem i've made a quick fix and have added a demo version which only allow 2 tables read. This should be enough to check if the program works OK on your computer and if the functionnalities are all working. Please go to the website www.pokertablescan.com and download the demo if you want to try it. Thanks |

PokerTableScan retrieves the statistics of the players sitting at the table by querying the PokerTracker database. [/ QUOTE ] the abiltiy to query multiple PokerTracker PSQL databases is a real plus-does your app. do that? It looks like it only queries one database.. |

Database ODBC name : it the name of your PokerTrackerDatabase. To get this name, click File/Maintain Database Name in PokerTracker and check the name displayed in the DB File / DB Name / DSN tab. [/ QUOTE ] the file name/s displayed in the DB File/DB Name/DSN tab are not necessarily the same as the the ODBC Database names ie PTPGSQL32. ODBC just creates new PTPGSQL names for each new database created .I have 32 of them. It would be much more user friendly if the Database dropdown menu showed actual database names from PokerTracker's Maintain Poker Tracker Database Names/ either the Name or the DB File/DB Name/DSN. I renamed all my PSQL databases in the DB file/DB Name/DSN to correspond to the type of database created.. both usually are the same ie Party DM $200 NLHE 6MAX. I know I can go into ODBC and match up the PTPGSQL# to the correct database but it is a hassle. Many players have many databses and may have re-named the DB File/DB Name/DSN to something other than the name applied by ODBC ie PTPGSQL32. I assume that PTS loads the dafault PokerTracker database..but just using it now when I closed and re-opened it ..it opened up two different db's.. btw I'm setting it to use a certain db and it wont keep the db I assigned to it..cant get it to work at all-looks like a great tool thu. |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Good point.
I will work on adding multi-database support. Other than that, any problem with the soft, or is it working ok? |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
can this read from multiple databases? if so, i'll be the guinea pig and give everyone a review
edit: just saw that it doesn't but you'll add it |

No workie. My database name is 6MAX, only the standard DSN names, even when I past the name in it seems to default to PTPGSQL7. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan

Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
This is a new piece of software, from basically an unknown. Is anybody checking this for keylogger, or other malicious stuff? Is the source available for viewing?

Buzz [/ QUOTE ] Yes, .exe file has been checked. No reason to check the source, its rare that hackers use a non-standard set up subroutines which means trojans are usually easy to find. |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
On one of my PostgreSQL installs I utilized 2 different passwords. On another pc I did the install with both passwords the same-is there a chance this could be an issue where there is some inconsistency w PSQL passwords? btw I've activated all db's and I still cant get this thing to work

Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Hi guys,
don't worry it's not a keylogger or a trojan or anything. It's just a tool to help in table selection. From the feedback i have, some people just can't get it to work. I don't think the problem is related to database connection though. I'm working on it right now and i will let you know as soon as i find the problem. Just to cheer me up, is this at least working for some of you? As soon as i solve the problem, i'll try to add features like multiple database password and more user-friendly database name. |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
I get an error message of
No PostgreSQL Poker Tracker Database detected. I have PT running, and PP open. What to do now? |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
It said I had to reg? I read that we can open two tables?
|
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
hey i e-mailed you and you e-mailed me back but i still can't get it to work. the problem is that it never recognizes my tables. do i have to be sitting at the table for it to work? i doubt that. i guess i'll leave it open for a while and see if it finally recognizes the table
i guess this is what i get for buying something before seeing if it works for me, but i think this is a great concept and has potential to be a great product, so i'm excited and willing to wait until you can get some of the kinks out. thanks for your help so far |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Have the same problem with the demo (new version) as well.
Hope you work things out. I really like the idea. |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Any update from someone who got this to work?

Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
The latest update is now working for me. Pretty cool piece of software.

Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Latest update works. I don't think this is all that useful as long as you have to manually select each table and wait for the list of players. It is almost as easy to just open up the table(s) and wait for poker ace to display the stats.
However, if you could get your program to automatically loop through the tables at a certain level and create a list, this would certainly be useful and buyworthy |

My idea was to be able to have a general picture of the tables and then choose the best ones. What i usually do is get the stats and profile of something like 20 tables, which take something like 2 or 3 minutes, then filter the tables, and sit at the 2 or 3 best tables. It has been pretty usefull to me, that's why i'm releasing it, but i agree that there is certainly many ways to make it much better. I'm working on it and take notes about your remarks... |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
The post announcing the release of version was deleted 1.02 by SamIAm. Maybe it's because he doesn't want multiple threads on the same subject, and i have no problem with that, however it would have been nice to at least PM me and explain me why he did this .
So again, please visit www.pokertablescan.com and try the latest release 1.02 that solves some problem with PartyPoker and develop multiple database support. Thanks and let me know if you have any problem with the soft. () |
Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan
Hey,
With PAHud, his new update allows you to sit at the table and when you do his stats will come up. If you make it so I can filter it through a list of, say, all 2/4 10 person(meaning not 6 max, but 10 don't necessarily have to be sitting down) tables, and then I can sort them by vpip, then I will buy this program |

[/ QUOTE ] You CAN do that with Poker Ace if you run the latest beta. Anyways, I do think your program looks very promising. Just trying to point out what functionality I think would increase it's usefullness most. As of now, I go to the level I play and open up 10 tables using iWitness and wait for the Poker Ace stats to appear after one hand. Then I just cascade the windows, close the ones without fish and join wait lists of the ones with fish. This works pretty well and is pretty fast, but if you could automate creating the table list in PTS instead of having to choose each table, it would save a lot of mouse clicks and some time. |

I didn't know latest beta of PokerAce did that, and i think it's great because i use PokerAce myself, and i think it's a great software. I'm going to work on PTS and take good note of your remarks. |
Let me know when you support Stars
Sounds cool.
|
yes the cycle thing is what we need
it's a nice piece of software, but clicking on each table and waiting needs to be addressed.

I had the same problem (the program didn't recognise my databases) with the new demo version. I rebooted my computer and everything worked fine. |
