Flop and turn looks ok. River c/r? Hard to make out his hand - but it looks like he could've been raising a FD on flop and taking the free card on the turn. Who is villain?

Re: JT flops bottom two as PFR OOP

I'm inclined to c/r the river so that he'll commit.

Re: JT flops bottom two as PFR OOP

Though he'll shove over a $200 bet as well, probably.

Results in white below:
I open-shove for $720, he pretty much insta-calls with 9c8c. I wasn't sure if open-shoving in a situation like this is max EV, which is why I posted this thread. Also I wasn't sure if flop and turn lines were OK.

wow before i read ur results i loved and open shove on the river, because his hand looks like a fd and u shove to make him call, VNH VNH that is awesome ship!

depends who villain is for which line you should take. betting $100, checking and shoving are all viable. im pretty much only trying to evaluate which line will cause villain to make the biggest mistake.

if you dont know him too well i check.

Why are we calling the flop then?

b/c he could be raising a draw on the flop. but after we call his raise and he fires again on the turn his hand range is skewed towards hands that beat ours.

That being said, i'm not sure I necessarily agree w/ c/fing the turn. I mean aggro opponents are surely capable of continuing to fire w/ combo draws. I don't know w/ this villain though.

by the way, river shove is pretty sweet - but i'm pretty sure you would've stacked him w/ a CR too, given your line.

Re: JT flops bottom two as PFR OOP

Against a player like that I think I might even consider folding that flop. Is that bad?

chromerims 10-17-2007 02:26 AM

Re: JT flops bottom two as PFR OOP

You probably woulda stacked him with the river CR too, but then likelyhood of stacking him is higher with the open allin, no? All this given that he has the flush of course.

lead turn for 450, call shove.

It makes me feel like a nit, but I want to fold the flop so bad.

Re: JT flops bottom two as PFR OOP

As played, river looks like a great spot for a c/r.

If he was bluffing, he'll always follow through here, and if he has a flush, he probably stacks off no matter what you do.

I just don't see many hands that raise the flop for value and then check the turn that don't fit in these categories.
