Re: phantom phone vibration
Well i don't feel the vibrations but i've heard them! And noone there so i thought i was mental. However, i have a new strategy, if feeling phantom vibrations is actually happening scientifically, then i will start wearing my cell phone in a different body region for sure.

Re: phantom phone vibration

Re: phantom phone vibration
proof of pavlov's dog and that we are more related to dogs and animals in terms of instincts than we would like to think.

Re: phantom phone vibration
This happens to me all the time. Of course, when my phone is really vibrating I somehow only notice it about 50% of the time.

I would falsely hear the ringer all the time too (especially when water was running nearby, for some reason) until I got a newfangled phone and started using mp3's as ringtones. |
Re: phantom phone vibration
I think this is our subconscious desperately begging someone to call us. In any case, I'm sure we had a long thread on this before.
Edit--- oh it's been linked. Cheers. |
Re: phantom phone vibration
a) This happens to me all the time.
b) Even moreso when I am driving because I will have my phone in my left side pocket, which sometimes will touch the door while im driving. If I am listening to music loudly the door will have a little vibration and make my paranoia even worse. |
Re: phantom phone vibration
This happens to me a lot. Even when I'm not carrying my phone.

Re: phantom phone vibration
i got a moto q and i usually keep it in a cargo pocket, blazer pocket at work or in my bag. (beat: can't carry it in my regular pocket, keyboard gets mashed and i accidentally send killa text messages that say jasdfjasdgjkasgjklasdgfjklsadjkl.)
so this doesn't happen to me anymore. used to happen a bit when i had a flip phone, but not now. |

I don't think so... are you saying you think phantom rings are people using some sort of instinct to sense the phone call before it comes in? If so you are wrong... |

I don't think so... are you saying you think phantom rings are people using some sort of instinct to sense the phone call before it comes in? If so you are wrong... [/ QUOTE ] No. I'm saying there's something about the beginning of a phone call received on our phones that we key into. Whether that be a certain sensation or a music note, our minds instantly expect there to be a phone call and thus we get the phantom phone vibration. I'm saying this is just how we work as human beings, and animals work this way too, hence Pavlov's dog. |

Re: phantom phone vibration
