What A Horrible Final Table!!
 

I just finished watching the Main Event Finale. Wow! What a HORRIBLE bunch of players. By far the weakest bunch I have ever seen at a WSOP Main Event Final Table. I know that some pros like David Williams have said that tourney poker just gets worse and worse-- this Final Table proves him right. If only Scotty had made it to the Final Table--he would have destroyed those goofs!

because most players dont care about heads up, it's too boring to see mediocre hands being played fairly straight forward. It's not very often that the ME final hand is gonna be an A3 with a pair and a gutshot getting AI to the joint 3-7 straight.

and to be honest, I would watch WSOP over and over at one point, at this point I can;t really even stand watching donkaments play out, especially this lolyangament

I quit watching this ME once they started showing Hevad Kahn. If I really felt like being annoyed while watching TV, I would rather turn on The View or Nancy Grace or something.

This guy was the only player at the final table that had some entertainment value. I don't understand how you guys don't think the [censored] that he does is funny

Yeah, pretty dull. It beat watching Jamie Gold for two hours but that's about it. Kravchenko should have won it and all you can say about his play is that it was, at best, fairly solid.

(And WTF with Nyugen, Hilm, Watkinson, and Kenny Tran imploding like they all did? With this weak a field, you'd think they could have held it together a bit better. Did they really need to jam their whole stacks on a single iffy hand?)

i thought kravchenko played really well. i like his game alot. came to the final table 9th in chips never really making any bad decisions and chipped his way up.

Wow...a bad mix of too much Jesus, bad players, annoying talk and what not.. this is by far the worst piece of poker I`ve ever seen on video...and it`s the Main event of WSOP.....sad.

2nd year in a row that the better player HU at the ME final table gets 2nd place. This puts me on life tilt.

And that annoying scream of our 2007 "champion"... I fee like crying.
There was one small part of this whole poker fiasco that I liked though.... when the pray-boy got repeatedly raped by the Rusian dude, that was well worth watching. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

How do any of you know how good the final table players were before 2003? The play might have been as bad or worse, but w/o hole card cams, there's no way to know.

The strategy of the game has completely changed in the last five years. Now everyone knows the final table is just a SnG. Overplay preflop and you might get lucky. Play small ball and the pros are a huge favorite. All in trumps small ball. Just maybe no limit isn't the best structure for determining the best hold'em player.

You did'nt miss much. As I recall from the PPV Lam just kept folding to Yangs bets and raises. I dont think there was one significant hand HU other than the last one.

At least they seem to have edited down the time Yang took.
He was very very slow and deliberate, He would stare, cap his cards, take more time then finally act. ESPN seems to have speeded up his play.

There were 2 significent hands. A few hands before Lam doubled up from about 10k to 25k. That was really it.

It was better than the Gold final table when no one tried to play with Gold except for one guy.
