OOT,

I feel like crap today, and am hoping you can provide entertaining stories of your ugly friends (or you) who have dated / hooked up way out of your league. This was inspired by a coworker telling me I should "set my standards lower because [I'm] not that attractive".

Pictures encouraged, but we'll probably just get a bunch of stupid celebrity ones.

My contribution:

I'm probably somewhere between a 5 to a 6. Average height, white guy, nothing that any girl would ever do a double-take for.

I had just moved to a new city across the country, and knew exactly one person in the state. I was unemployed, with no real prospects yet.

The very day I arrived, I decided to just say f-it. I'm going to have a ton of fun and deal with the consequences later. My friend and I went out to dinner at a local beer festival and started barhopping.

Now, I had nothing going for me at the time, but I was in a damn good mood. I poured on the charm, and was generally just playful and teasing in a puppy dog like way.

By the end of the night, I got around 10 phone numbers, and made out with 4 girls. At this time, this was probably more phone numbers than I'd gotten in my entire life combined. I was also slapped twice, and thrown out of at least one bar.

This was several years ago, and I've only had a few nights like this since.

One heavier girl was flirting with me and wasn't getting the hint that I wasn't interested. I said something like, "I'd need at least another 6-pack to get the beer goggles working" to her friend. A little mean, but it worked.

The other girl I honestly have no idea what I said.

You're not going to get girls if you think they are "out of your league." That is a completely 100% mental construction and is a self-fulfilling prophecy. There is nothing about a girl that makes her necessarily out of any guy's league.

Yes, yes, great. We can still acknowledge, though, that when people use this construction, they are almost always referring to raw physicality, and to what the man on the street is likely to think about the equity of the pairing in that regard.

This really is the key. You'll hear it alot, but that's because it's so important. Having limiting beliefs will kill any shot you have with a hot girl. I used to talk about picking up specific hot girls, and some of my friends would be quick to tell me that she's out of my league. I used to believe them, and of course I got no results.

My mindset is alot different now, and I've dated way way up.

Yugo is dead on. Every girl no matter how hot has doubts about her looks and self esteem issues. All it takes is a few negs and some interesting conversation and she can be interested in the ugliest troll out there. What kind of asshat coworker told you that you're ugly and you should lower your standards. [censored] that, I would rather be alone than with someone that I'm not attracted to.

I have a similar situation to OP. I seem to be only attracted to girls who are unattainable and the situation is getting worse.

key is to not think they're out of your league.

Also, girls are people. If your wondering what to say generally telling them something you'd like to hear works fine. This will probably get misintrepreted but works IMO.

Plenty of thai girls and asian girls are beautiful. Just not all the ones that I see pics of on here. Also, I know hating on thailand posts is the new thailand post, but it does get old when every post dealing with a girl someone drops by to say "for 500 baht you can have a 10!!!!".

I understand your point. After being here for almost a year I agree Thai girls (or specificaly the ones most foreigners date) are way overrated and hookers/strippers/ whatever are strongly overrated on this board.

I was never implying paying for it though. Generally guys here can get girls that they think are "out of their league" here but the they should be out of the girls league IMO. My post was sorta a weird joke that only I would get.

Anyway, I can stop hijacking now.
