I can't imagine you were beat here. With the 3's on the board I probably RAI on the river.

bit more on the turn, and you can probably minraise or even shove the river fer value.

I wouldve bet 17-20 on turn but would also just have called down on the river.
Interesting ppl tend to raise/shove the river - simply because of villains stats?

How aggressive is this player postflop?

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Lately I;ve been running into players with similar stats but are VERY passive post flop. If they're betting they have the 3 or the FH and sucked you in thinking that their a maniac.

This looks right to me, minraising huge donks on the river can be very lucrative

Why do you assume he is a "huge donk"?

b/c he is a 40/6 taking a [censored] up line.
also, it doesn't really matter if he is or not. If he folds fine. I just implied donks would call when they shouldn't

Pretty much regardless of his stats, I'm certainly not so afraid of him that I'm just calling here and losing out on massive value

Depends a lot on the opponent.

Haha. I didn't say you were scared no need to get so defensive...

40% isn't enough to make him that bad of a player. Too loose maybe, but not a crazy stupid idiot as you are implying.

Not saying anything about the river, just saying that if you take this logic you are going to be overadjusting to your opponents and giving them funny ranges.

The word "donk" could probably be banned and a lot of people would be a lot better off anyways.

Re: (100NL) AA vs Loosey Goosey

I think I was a little defensive b/c of the [censored] beats I took today.

Anywhoo, I understand your point but I'm not saying he is necessarily a complete idiot.
I think we should raise a small amount b/c there are plenty of Kx type hands that will call a small raise, but I don' think many hands we have beat are calling a large raise.

Furthermore, I think a small raise will get donkeys to call with really weak hands they definitely would fold to a large raise.
Though we can't assume villain is a crazy idiot, he is far more likely to be one than an 18/12 player, so therefore I think the most +EV against his possible range is a small raise.

I would raise more if I knew his range was limited to AK for instance, b/c I would get the most value out of him in the long run.

Small raise sometimes gets money from less than AK, as the times we do run into a complete idiot that will call with 55 he could easily have stats that look something like 40/6

but yes, thinking someone could have anything at anytime b/c they are 40/6 is a huge mistake and will cause you to lose value, call bets you shouldn't, and generally be lost, which is the only advantage very loose players have

He probably hit a set of 8's on the river and will shove over the top of anything anyway.
