How does this happen? Even at Foxwoods when there is a new dealer they often fan the cards out and do a quick count of each deck. And Foxwoods is horrible.

Maybe i'm wrong, but isn't it possible that the short deck HELPED the players, rather than hurt them, odds-wise?

It doesn't say what game was involved, nor whether the missing card(s) were helpful or detrimental to the player. It's possible that there were disclosure requirements that required the casino to report the short deck, and that they could be fined for improprieties irrespective of whether the short-deck helped or hurt the players.

just was thinking about this in regards to blackjack the other day, has anyone ever heard of a case of a casino removing/adding cards from a multideck game. it seems to me as much as casinos seem to want to avoid having good counters beating their games .... it would be hard to detect and ... well anyways just curious if this have ever come up that anyone knows of.

I haven't heard about this, but I do know that some casinos (legally and within the rules, if you read their fine print), have had single and double deck games that were actually six decks shuffled together, and then a single or double deck worth of cards removed from that shuffle to create the illusion of a one or 2 deck game when you're really playing a six deck game with only one or 2 decks worth of penetration.

I forget the details, but a small Indian Casino did this years ago when I was pretty new to the business.

I read this, it actually sounded like it was the actual cash games. Which i find odd, they're always so prompt to replace bad cards when I'm there

Is the only poker room at the crown the space downstairs that has about 15 tables? The casino has way to many slot machines that are too similar.

Anyone play the electronic roulette games there?

Re: Crown Casino Fined for using short deck in card games

more like 50 tables and about 10 pokerpro electronic tables.
they also have a area upstairs which they open at peak times (aussie million & vic/melbourne champs) which has about 8 tables

Damn, I didn't know that. I live near it and go there now and then but only found one smallish poker area. Whereabouts are all the electronic top tables and 50 tables?

Re: Crown Casino Fined for using short deck in card games

If you go downstairs there are some higher limit tables on the left site and at learst during the Aussiemillions there where lots of tables on the rigth site. if you cross the room to the other side youŽll find the computertables. There also is another entry on the computertable side.

would a vegas casino get fined if this happened? would anyone ever find out? seems like a tough line (and rightly so).

that's actually a play on a comment by the immediate-past Prime Minister of Australia, Paul Keating, who said that about the then-opposition leader, John Hewson.

What a novel idea oversight in gaming, bah we don't need that online! We got a great system in place now, you could equate it to going to LV and playing in casinos that are exempt from US litigation and no oversight...hail to the risk takers we are it. Oh wait I forgot they are regulated by Canadian Indians and Trinidad....never mind move along all is well.
