AC: What is in between the casinos?

I understand the casinos in AC are pretty spread out along the boardwalk. What is in between them?

I haven't been there for years but I'm assuming it's still the 'psychic readers', cheap souvenier shops, various food vendors and T-shirt places that were there before. If you like tawdry you'll like browsing those shops.

A few hi-rises, dozens of shops that sell pizza, salt water taffy, sausage and pepper heros, massages,Ripleys Believe It Or Not, t-shirts and souvenirs, palm and tarot card readers. Many of these fine establishments are only open during the summer.

Some of the worst degenerate in society. Oh, I’m sorry, you asked for between, not in. Between the casinos are the degenerates that have been ejected from the casinos.

NO NO NO. It's the boardwalk, and it's just like any other boardwalk. AC may not be the best place but sure isn't as bad as some of you people make it out to be.

Re: AC: What is in between the casinos?

AC might be ghetto (and it is), but it's still Jersey Shore. Meaning that it's beach and pizza shops and boardwalk.

That said, I don't go to AC for the shore scene so I can't say I've ever actually seen the ocean there. If I want beach I go to OCMD which has all the same sans casinos and crackheads.

True story from 20 years ago:

I'm walking 10 feet behind my parents on Pacific. They get up to the hookers on the corner. One of them approaches my father and says: "Do you want a date?" He says: "What are you talking about? This is my wife right here!" Without hesitation she shoots back: "For $20 more she can watch!"

Re: AC: What is in between the casinos?

Okay well as funny as that is, and sounds, most of you have never been to major city then. Baltimore, and NYC are pretty much no different. Both have hookers, both have druge dealers. It's all the same. AC actually has a 5 year plan in place right now to solidly improve. Granted it isn't doing anything for the poor people but driving them out and displacing them to another area but it is making the area nicer. The improvements alone have drove crime way down in the past couple years. Plus they have the walk now, with a bunch of stores, JayZ opened the 40/40 club. Over the next couple years AC will become a solid destination IMO. It also is a very good time to buy real estate because anything you buy now the price will double or triple in 5 years as long you take care of it.

Re: AC: What is in between the casinos?

Really and truly the folks who have put a negative sentiment on my town need to get a reality check...

First - you need to be on the streets of 3am and know exactly where the hookers hang out. Unless you really want to meet them they are not that obvious - even hour ago went I rode down The Boardwalk.

Secondly, there's plenty of sand if you walk due East from any of the Boardwalk casinos. It might be tad cold today, but come 12 weeks from now it will be more pleasant that sitting agaist some of the mugs in 2/4 TEH @ The Trop.

The check cashing establishments are in the opposite direction and I think they cater the ever growing Latino population that is employed in the city.

I don't see any more Cop cars as I do in NYCity...

Strip Joints - Oh come on - If you are dumb enough to even think of going there and see some real t.i.t.s then you deserve to leave my city with no money and VD.

My favorite is "New Hope Jewelery," a pawn shop directly across the street from Taj. I have seen a number of people trudge back from that store into the Taj as I've driven in over the years. Talk about ROCK BOTTOM.

A seedy, poorly run sub joint near the trop. The food is decent, but they run the place like the Soup Nazi. Everything has to be just so. Can't do this, must do that, etc. etc. Plus, you have to buy drinks from a vending machine at the back.

Re: AC: What is in between the casinos?

If you like the ocean, it's a great walk. Nice break from the ding, ding of a casino. Las Vegas has no such attraction. Shops on the boardwalk are carnival-like but there are some decent pizza and sub places.

Always safe during the day, never ventured out during the night, sheepish and careful here. Perhaps in the summer its a good walk in the night, never been in the summer.

Certainly a walk to another casino is in order during the day and the boardwalk is the way.

The subs are awesome and when I went the old lady waitress was super friendly. I could add whatever I wanted and she even made sure the subs were cut properly so my friends could split 3-ways. Soda was brought by in from a can and we got cups.
