How often are you betting this flop?

Action is 4-handed here. Villian is straightforward, multi-tabling TAG with an attempt to steal around 30%. We have no history playing big pots.

UTG ($419.40)
Button ($200.00)
SB ($227.90)
Hero ($200.00)

Maybe bet 70%
C/R 20% to keep others honest/for deception
C/F 10% against certain opponents

Not totally sure tho, I think I may struggle in spots like this as well. Would like to hear some others chime in.

Villain is peeling a [censored] load here, so I'm not betting unless I feel like firing another barrel. Of course that decision depends a lot on my image and villain's ability to fold.

Oh and I hate hate hate C/R AI here. Sure we have decent equity against a lot of middlish pairs, but they just about never end up folding after betting this flop.

I don't 3-bet preflop... if you're wondering why its because I've never had to make a thread like this

Call me a nit but I hate creating a big pot OOP

This is what I was thinking, just not good at putting percentages to them. So yeah percentage is really dependent on whether villain peels/can fold to 2nd barrel etc. I think

Seriously though...3-betting is completely fine (good) given that it's 4-handed.

yeah, i'm a nit too, but given that it's 4-handed, i think i'm way ahead of villian's stealing range.

oi... didn't notice it was 4 handed. Standard.

UTG play between 4 and 5-6 handed are worlds apart IMO as UTG pretty much plays as the CO in 4 handed.

Re: How often are you betting this flop?

Given villain and the fact that we're 4-handed, I'm gonna go ahead and say NOT 3-betting here is probably a leak.

Anyway, agree with whoever said villain's peeling basically his whole range here. I still fire both barrels a fair amount though if I have a good image. That said, c/f wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing ever.

I push this flop and vomit when he flips over the flush/quads.

I hate betting in spots like this. I'd only cbet like 10% of the time at the most.

I think there's more value in taking a free card to hit your 10 outs. Even if a K comes, you can take it down with a bet a good amount of time. Peope give you more respekt on the turn especially if it's a scare card.

edit: damn it I didn't see that we're oop. This situation blows even more! I'm actually gonna c/f this flop unless I have a really good image and villain has low "call cbet" percentage.

If we have no history and my image is good, I fire this flop and dbl barrel the turn. Since it is 3 bet, we do not have to bet the pot.

If we do have history or my image is bad, I'm c/folding here.

see, i like this idea of double barreling, i think it sounds great on paper because it should get 77-JJ to fold, but...if i bet 50 into a 72 pot on the flop and villain calls, pot will be 172 and i have 118 left on the turn. so i fire the second barrel (push) and villain is getting 118:290 to call -- is he really folding enough to make it profitable for me?

echoeing (sp?) what other posters said....bet flop if you're going to shove turn, or ch/f. I prob just give it up most of the time.
