October challenge discussion thread

1. Every tournament played on pokerstars or full tilt poker with buy-in under 50$ or rebuys under 10$(50+5$FOs,10+1$r do count and 20$ 1 rebuy 1 addon) will count towards your overall score.
2. You get points for every tournament where you cash.
3. Points are calculated with pokerstars tlb-formula.
4. Top 10 of your scores will be calculated for your final score.
5. Every tournament starting between 10.1.2007 pokerstars time and 31.10.2007 will count.
6. Buy-in for the challenge is 50$.
7. If we get under 10 entrants winner gets the whole prizepool, 10-20 entrats 1. gets 66% 2. 34%, over 20 entrats 1. 55%, 2.30% 3. 15%
8. Forward every single one of your congratulory emails to [email protected]. You can turn these emails on on pokerstars from options menu and on ftp from account menu and selecting change email notifications. Use common sense on this one. If you know that some finish will not make it to your top ten don't send the mail. This helps my job. You can also send weekly mails from pokerstars.
9. Sign-up for the challenge in this thread by stating your Stars and ftp screennames and sending the money to NoahSD. ( nsd4eva on both sites) Your registeration is final when NoahSD confirms that he has received your money.
10. For late registrants: only tournaments started after your reply in this thread will count.
11. Tournaments with less than 45 entrants do not count
12. Satellites do not score points.

Currently we have 18 runners I think. What do you guys think about prizepool distribution?

It's not entirely relevant anyway, I don't even know what I have but I doubt any of them will be kept in my top 10.

In. $ sent. Don't know how much volume I'll get but it's only top 10 and it's over 31 days and I usually play the 50s anyway.

I know that people will still be signing up for a few days, but can we post the pstars/ft names of contestants somewhere and just add to it as people join? I would like to commence spite-calling asap please.

If someone has the mental strenght to play through 10000 person freeroll and win it, I think we can reward him with 400 points.

what qualifies as ITM? top 10%?

i don't know if anyone is planning on playing these...i'm not, but i figure we should clarify it perhaps. probably won't be significant unless someone is top 5.

Re: October challenge discussion thread

i believe chopping would be allowed, yeah. tourneys are always played out after a chop. I think everyone would agree that you can't make a deal that includes you getting the 1st place finish.

edit: remember, it's not the money that you win that determines how you do in this competition, it's the place you get.

It'd be unfair to not allow chopping since in most tourneys you guys will FT, the money on the line in the tourney will make the challenge money insignificant.

I assume you guys will be sweating each other a fair bit at FTs, so if anyone sees anyone do shady [censored] during a chop, PM me the chat transcript and I'll decide if the tourney should count or not. For example, a tourney def doesn't count if someone catches you say the sentence "I'll only chop if you let me win."
