Straightforward or \"wow\"call? Stars 25/50 observed hand

Obviously the key here is that sd743 checks the turn, in position, when the flush hits. 1Ryu, then, doesn't believe he has it - and, in fact, isn't giving him credit for a set or straight, either.

It was obviously a very read-dependent call - 1Ryu jut didn't think his opponent had anything. But I can't see much that sd743 would have called the flop with that wouldn't be beating 1Ryu by the river. And isn't sd743 more likely to have hit the nut flush on the turn, and be slowplaying it, than to have just air?

Basically the only hand Ryu beats is the one his opponent has.

sd743 is scared of a check-raise from the flush so doesn't bluff the turn. But on the river, he decides to bluff since Ryu wouldn't have checked the flush on two streets.

Since Ryu raised preflop, his flop bet could have been a continuation bet with a high pair, which unimproved he would fold to a river pot on this scary board.

It is a pretty obvious bluff. I like much more a turn check and river bet when you DO have the nut flush, as your opponent will remember your turn check, think you are weak, and look you up with a set, straight etc.

Re: Straightforward or \"wow\"call? Stars 25/50 observed hand

Ryu's reasoning is probably "villain will bet any hand he expects to win at showdown and every hand that will never win at showdown, and I am getting 2:1 on my call." Against a villian who won't check behind with a sure loser this line isn't that bad with any hand that can beat a bluff, and ryu's hand can beat most bluffs. villian isn't (likely to be) betting here with a straight or a set, so his range is narrowed significantly.

I'm giving ryu credit here, but this is a line of reasoning that is fair and that explains the action.

Ive played a lot of 10/20 on party with Ryu, he shoves preflop way too much with garbage like KKT9 and KQJT when it's obvious he is up against aces every time.
He even tries to 3 bet bluff flushes against rock gardens when they raise him on a paint board.

Just to clarify, you mean that KQJT is garbage in context right?

KQJT is a weak wrap versus aces because the aces block a significant portion of your straight possibilities.

Thanks, this is the exact key to read my play.
The guy was e really amazing caling station, that guy would have draw to anything even to any any runner runner, but i noticed that he knew pretty well once the card where all out if he had a had wich was worth to bet or not.

Then when he bet the pot on the river so quickly I thought the he was betting on that way coz he know that he couldn't win the hand checking It down, I was 100% surethat he would not bet in that way with less than a middle flush on just air...

Sorry m8, you are wrong, Dario Alioto become a real legend here in Italy after WSOP Europe Omaha Bracelet. Now there are many fans for him.
Having him also in this important forum is a benefit for all omaha players.
