Works fine for me. Snazzy new symbols in the Hand History window now, as in A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Also, some of the lettering has been "sharpened up" a bit.

If you have a personal firewall, I've noticed that poker sites often execute a different executable to do their updates.

Failed and continues to fail. Firewall is not blocking.

Re: Cake updare fails?

lol update ran fine but the software no longer allows passwords with punctuation marks in them (like mine) to be typed in. support keeps telling me that i must enter a password within the confines of the software, no matter how many times i tell them that i already have a password that worked up until today.

I'm picturing some high-fives going around the Cake Poker Support Team HQ right now.

I think they did away with chat too.

Edit: It also looks like you are forced to wait for bb and cannot post on the first hand when you sit.

Also Edit: Now when you hit bet pot it is actually the pot including rake.

I think they changed the default, but you can put it back manually under "options" from the main menu.
Also, chatting seems to work fine too.

Re: Cake updare fails?

Half pot now rounds up (i.e. pot is $1.50, half pot bet is $1).

Now when I sit down it actually waits for BB instead of auto-posting OOP, which was retarded before.

Software after update is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper buggy, watch out. I've had a couple hands where in the middle of the hand I would get a pop up saying "Hand does not exist at table," and the software has crashed numerous times.

Re: Cake updare fails?

OP and anyone else with this problem, just uninstall and reinstall Cake.

If they're going to fix anything about betting the pot I wish they would actually allow you to do it heads up instead of min raising. MAN that pisses me off at the end of PLO tourneys.

I've had the "Always Auto Post Blinds" option checked, but it never worked until the update. I found this out when I sat down and automatically posted UTG instead of being asked if I wanted to wait like it always had in the past. As consolation for forcing me to post when I really wasn't expecting to, Cake dealt me a pair of Kings, so it was ok.

Open up the options and click the box for player chat.

So I guess they changed all of the defaults then.

Re: Cake updare fails?

i seriously love that they took the time to implement graphical suits for the cards in the chat window but they can fix things like the tables and the "reload chips" box taking 30 seconds to appear, if it doesn't freeze and make you force quit.

Unplayable today. I can't get even get in a solid 20 minutes without being disconnected.

I had same problem earlier. Great update.

On the bright side, they did actually fix the bet pot button.

Re: Cake updare fails?

i cant get more than 3 tables open and it takes 3 minutes to add money to my stack.

Re: Cake updare fails?

I played at Cake for the first time last night and had no problems. Played for an hour or two. It even ran smoothly with 3-4 tables open.

I am about to try to play with the update (updated fine earlier today when I opened the client to look at something). Hopefully, I'll be an exception to what seems like the rule.

Re: Cake updare fails?

UPDATE: Just froze on me. I have to force it to shut down.

Re: Cake updare fails?

I played 2 tournaments on Cake today at the same time mixed in with 4-6 tables from other sites. Had no problems.

Re: Cake updare fails?

Weird problems tonight. I had one fixed limit table open and three NL tables. The fixed limit was fine, but the NL tables kept freezing. My mouse pointer was always an hourglass.

When I closed the NL tables, the pointer went back to normal, and aside from a couple delays, the fixed limit table has been fine.

I even tried playing a NL S&G, but the lobby froze.

Guess I'm one-tabling the rest of my session.

mother_brain 09-28-2007 11:19 AM

Re: Cake updare fails?

on a normal site this unplayability would be very frustrating. however, im pretty used to it at cake.

i've failed to get a 20 min. session in without problems all four times i've tried.

dlk9s 09-28-2007 01:13 PM

Re: Cake updare fails?

I uninstalled the software and re-downloaded and it seemed to work fine, even the NL tables. Unfortunately, I lost $20 after that, so I probably should've called it a night when it was locking up.

dlk9s 10-01-2007 11:09 PM

Re: Cake updare fails?

The software updated again on 10/1 and now I can't type in my bets. Then I tried the slider and was actually able to get it to stop directly on 100 in a S&G, but it only bet 90 (it was no-limit, and I was first to act after the flop, so it wasn't like 90 was the max legal bet or something).

Fun times.

Re: Cake updare fails?

Stability seems slightly better, though I noticed people were still timing out right and left around me.

dlk9s 10-01-2007 11:31 PM

Re: Cake updare fails?

I just closed the software and restarted and I can type in my bets now. I tested it at the play money tables, so we'll see how it works with real money. Maybe I'll just have to play fixed limit.

EDIT: Still can't type in my bets in a real money S&G. This is awesome.

21times20 10-02-2007 01:18 AM

Re: Cake updare fails?

yeah restarting the software didn't do anything for me either, it seems certain at this point that they spent more money shooting the avatar models from various angles than they did on the people programming the actual software

oh well, i guess it's time to practice an aggressive strategy where i always bet the pot

edit: nvm, got excited when after i got moved to a new table i could type in my bets, but it was just a temporary thing, maybe if i have the info tab selected, get moved to a new table, and never go back to the chat tab it will work

Re: Cake updare fails?

Try deleting or backspacing out #s and then typing in bets or buy-ins.
For me highlighting the number to be replaced does nothing.

dlk9s 10-03-2007 10:47 AM

Re: Cake updare fails?

Things seem much better after the 10/2 update. I can now type in my bets and the software appears more stable. I didn't have any freeze-ups last night and it only got laggy for a few minutes.

Clownfish 10-03-2007 12:48 PM

Re: Cake updare fails?

I couldn't even get on a table last night. When the buy-in window appeared, it gave the field names (lblMaxbuyin or something similar to that) and would time out before even showing the values of those items so I could never buy-in. I tried for about 15 minutes and gave up.
