25-50 6 max deep stacks on Stars
 

Hope this isn't considered "spam" and if it is, apologies in advance. I wanted to let you guys know that I've been talking to several of the higher limit online players about their concerns and was able to add three new tables to the site. Three 25-50 no limit hold'em games will be 6-max tables that have a minimum buy in of $2000.

If you guys ever have strong suggestions about what you'd like to see, let me know and I'll see if there is something I can do.

Expect to see these tables added shortly.

i don't play that high, but that is very awesome of you. it's nice to see a named pro/site rep. doing something to help the players.

Some other suggestions:

-50/100nl

-Mixed PLO/PLHE games

-Deeper games (100bb min and 200bb max)

-HU tables

-When someone runs out of time, make them check rather than fold.

-Make the chip, card, and warning sounds less harsh.

I'm not so sure about deeper games being a good idea for the site. I understand why a player like yourself might like that, but I think you can understand why that probably isn't something that a site would be too excited about. It's something I'll revisit in the future, but for now, let's take things one step at a time and see how the subtle changes are recieved.

As for your other suggestions, the one I probably like best is the 50-100 NL, but again, it's not something I want to bombard them with right away.

So true - i know it's not much but its one of the reasons I play of full tilt over Stars. I can't seem to put in a decent long session on Stars without the sounds driving me crazy

You know on Stars you can change the sounds to whatever you want? Just go to Options > Sound Settings in the lobby.

This doesn't directly affect me, but it's very cool that Daniel is so actively helping.

No offense, and I could be completely off, but it appears to me as if Stars could make a 50-100nl game appear in under 5minutes of work. I mean, it is just stupid for there to be a jump from 25-50 to 100-200. This shouldn't be a bombardment, it should be practical! I also don't see how it would take anything other than typing in 2 lines of code and a pokerstars update to simply add 50-100 tables.

Obviously it's "easy" but the real question is whether or not it's a good idea. When I say I don't want to bombard them, essentially what I mean is that I think changes should happen gradually so that you can have a test run to see how the changes are affecting the games.

So far they have been extremely recpetive to the changes I've asked them to implement and I'd like to make sure that any changes I request are well thought out as far as the "bigger picture" is concerned. There are lots of factors to consider when adding new games. One being, what effect will that have on existing games, etc.

Could you ask them to implement a "super-user" mode, and make it available to 2+2ers?
It is important that PokerStars keeps up with other sites in this regard, e.g. Absolute.

I think it would be great if they had lower NL HU tables.

Preferably .02/.05 or .05/.10

I know .25/.50 is considered lower limits, but it would really be great to get heads up experience without having to play $50 buyins every time.

low limit HU cashgames are just plain silly, you hardly can beat the rake imo.

Hi Daniel,

thanks for getting involved! my suggestions are:

NLH:

- more deep tables, eg at 10/20 (50min 100max buyin is fine)
- 50/100
- HS HU Tables

Other games:

- mid/hi limit mix games tables (ie. 50/100 - 300/600 HORSE, TD etc).
- HU HORSE SNGS

the latter is basically what i like to play on FTP but cant on Stars as they dont exist [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

A post like this is certainly not spam.

Something that almost all of us would like to see is a solution to the short-stackers that are ruining the games. As you know, there is a flurry of players buying in for 20bb and playing the short-stack strategy which takes advantage of the looser players, who aren't necessarily playing bad because normally they have potentially big implied odds (against the non short-stackers). This causes the games to tighten up, which isn't really good for anybody, including the site.

At the same time, I don't think anybody wants to discourage players who are taking a shot at a higher limit.

I think an adequate solution is either a 30-40bb minimum buy-in across the board OR increase the amount of time that a player must sit-out without returning to the table with the amount that he left with (ratholing).

Nice, would like both of these.

A couple more suggestions:

* A "Fold and Show" button in addition to the ordinary fold button when only two players are left in the pot. (Is it Ultimate Bet that has this already?)

* An option to have your cards face down on the (virtual) table, until it's your turn. (Alternatively, face down until you click on the back of the cards.) I pay better attention to the table when I haven't looked at my cards yet, and I'm getting tired of the old black-tape-on-screen trick... [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

If the man's adequately rolled for heads up .25/.50, I'd be surprised if the rake at .02/.05 would break him.

I too would like to see this. My wife wanted to play me heads up the other day, for fun mostly, as she's still basically a beginner. I didn't particularly want to mess around with all that shuffling heads up, so I logged onto pokerstars hoping to see some 1cent/2cent or 2cent/4cent heads up tables, or even some play money heads up tables we could play on. I don't mind losing out a bit on the rake to be able to have a little micro-stakes fun - although I don't understand why the rake can't be proportionate to the stakes.

40BB is deep stacked nowadays? How about some uncapped buy in, 200BB min buy in games?
