UB has added bad-beat jackpots!

Bummer. Right now it seems to not be on that many tables. Hopefully that is the way it stays.

Yeah, I bet they rig the rake like Party did with it.

Absolute, UB's owner takes even more then Party does. Much like AP I'm sure that UB skins won't have access to BBJ tables effectively killing the skins too. Another lesson learned from Party.

According to PSS they are UltimateBet, Benefit Poker, DevilfishPoker, DV8 Poker, GreenTiePoker, Magic Palace, UpperClassPoker.

I only knew of 3 of them before checking right now. If the BBJ catches on this should break the skins much like Party did. After all of AP/UB's shady behavior this year I have no doubt this is part of the motivation. That is of course in addition to the sneaky way of charging extra rake.

I can hardly wait for UB's spam campaign.

Re: UB has added bad-beat jackpots!

I thought we loved bad-beat jackpots, not because we think it's a good bet or because we like being raked more, but because it attracts far more bad play from the kind of players we love to play against.

I know Party's BBJ games were particularly juicy, but if I remember, those were 1/2 and up and attracted all kinds of players who had no business in those games. Am I wrong?

Which site isn't a plague? I already registered at FTP without Rakeback. And there is not much left with Rakeback.

If I could only create my own site...

Even if you win the jackpot, you'll probably get some run around from UB support on cashouts. It will sit there in pending and emails to their support address will go into a black hole.

Amazing the decline of this site when Neteller left US players.

Why no BBJ Roshambo tables?!?!?!?

Pokeraddict 09-25-2007 08:08 PM

Re: UB has added bad-beat jackpots!

You see these terms? The hand that loses only gets 32.5% of the BBJ. UB keeps 10% of the BBJ while rolling over 25% (so they are really taking a 12.5% rake) and they even pay players who aren't at the table when it hits as long as they are playing the same limit.

So there is a flat $0.50 taken out of every pot at any table that qualifies for the BBJ?

Do they state this anywhere, or are they just not going to mention it?

Is the $.50 rake anywhere on their site?

LT22 09-26-2007 12:02 AM

Re: UB has added bad-beat jackpots!

Your loss is your gain!

If you lose with quad Eights or better you'll take home a hefty cut of the Bad Beat Jackpot that grows by leaps and bounds with every hand that's dealt at our Bad Beat tables. We collect $.50 from every raked pot at our Bad Beat tables to build up the Jackpot until some desperately unlucky soul gets coolered by a cold deck...and wins a bundle!

This is so stupid! So, I guess if we decide to keep playing here, and on these tables, we should be "crossing" limits to maximize the chance of being at the correct limit at the correct time? This is raw.

The rake only affects if ur playing tables labled with"jackpot". if u play the other tables, it won't affect
the rake

Problem is the fish will likely migrate to these tables effectively killing the regular tables. Surprisingly this hasn't happened yet at my limit (fingers crossed).

Some fish at NL50 hit the first jackpot a few hours ago, and continued to sit there with his $12 stack. Argh he's probably going to instacashout.

Yea, at 100NL today, there was about 9 jackpot sh tables that were full, and no full sh non-jackpot tables. I have a feeling, in about 2 more days, there will hardly be any non-jackpot tables going, and if there, they most surely won't be fishy.

I was away for a week, looged on tonite and saw that crap. 100NL is 90% BBJ now. And the non BBJ tables are so tight.

Also All the regs that I see day in dayout are not there anymore.

Oh And I cashed out my whole roll there as of now.

GG UB, just hope that they wont bug my last cashout.

See ya at FTP/stars etc.

Re: UB has added bad-beat jackpots!

I thought it was just me because my computer is about two years old. UB used to work fine, running 5 or 6 tables at a time. Now if I run more than two or three it gets really slow and even just running one I have problems ever since the update. Didn't have issues before, why release an update that makes your software slower?

As far as the jackpot tables go, I avoid them because the extra rake isn't worth the extra I might make off of bad players or the outside chance at seeing a dime from the BBJ. I play really small stakes so the players are already bad and I am able to grind it out without much fluctation.
