First time I fold a set (I know you LOVE these)

100NL 6max, 5handed. Effective stacks $100.

Reads: Villain check/call flop, check/semi-minraised turn with a set earlier on. No PT stats.

Hero is in SB. Hero is dealt 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Pre-flop: UTG folds, CO calls, BTN folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($3) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets $3, BB calls, CO calls.

Turn: ($12) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $12, BB raises to $30, Hero folds

After reviewing the hand I figured I should have called the turn raise in order to re-evaluate river UI, or to open shove river when I pair the board. I do overbet the flop sometimes by the way.

I don't think villain raises turn with a drawing hand, so I figure raising the turn is pretty bad.

(Comments like "shove" aren't very helpfull to me)

BB probably has J6, seriously this is a really bad fold. And no don't call to reeval river, just f'ing shove the turn.

looks standard. don't go broke in an unraised pot, etc.

This is a ridic fold. There are so many combo draw hands he could have here, backdoored ah4h type, jack and club draw, etc. Plus he is bb so he can have a ton of worse two pair hands.

ez shove

also think about whether he's likely to slowplay a flopped str8 on a 2 tone board?

If you are going to do [censored] like this in an unraised pot, then raise 33 up pf and THEN get it all in by the turn.
As played, shove turn.

Terrible fold. As everybody else says, just shove the turn.

Re: First time I fold a set (I know you LOVE these)

I am the king of retarded folds of big hands and this is a trivial shove. Sometimes they have retarded 2 pairs, sometimes they're semibluffing with any 4 or clubs or a combo draw, sometimes they just have AJ and are retarded.

Edit, oh yeah, shove turn is better than calling and re-eval on turns because of the draws in his range. Should be pretty obvious why.

the first is probably true but it doesnt lead to the second. it leads to the opposite.
