Are you calling this?

I have been pretty active at this table, but nothing terribly out of line. Not shown down much to this point. BB doesn't do this with nothing, but is not a total rock either, lots of broadway in his push range I think.

Re: Are you calling this?

Lord no. You are flipping or way behind everything in his range. Since there's a good chance he's got 2 overs, I'd say you have about 33% equity against his range, and the pot odds for the call is something like 58k to win 80k, which is not nearly the odds you need to call. No reason to risk a third of your chips on this.

Re: Are you calling this?

Yeah, I messed up the calc on pot odds and somehow came up with 2:1 in the heat of the moment.

Even with BB only re-pushing Top 10% it is close, getting 1.5:1. Is an average player pushing less than this?

Hand 2: 59.8989 % 59.54% 00.36% { 88+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, AJo+, KQo }

Edited for grammar.

Re: Are you calling this?

I might remove QT/QJ/KT/KJ/A9. I don't think the range is any wider than you suggested, as Villain is pushing into a raiser who can call him with a very wide range so he is more likely to have a legit hand.

Re: Are you calling this?

I agree, this is looking like a fold. I called at the time (again thinking I was getting 2:1, cause I suck at calc.exe). If I was getting 2:1 this is much closer to a call IMHO.

He was HIGHLY pissed that his AQs whiffed and I knocked him out. The good thing this did, was keep people off my blinds/raises (cuz I'm the donk calling with 22 ), so that is some food for thought.

Re: Are you calling this?

I called with 22 in a similar situation last night cause I was sort of on tilt. I should look back over the numbers and see if I had the odds to call, at the time I felt I did, but I probably didn't.

In my case, I was up against AQ and he rivered an ace.

Re: Are you calling this?

You are committed, imho, at this stage of the event you have to call.

Though hindsight is 20/20, this is a push/fold situation for you on the button; not the 3xBB raise you started with.

Committed with almost 60 BB? Huh?

I call, you gotta be 40% vs his range, I think this is a decent player's restealing range:

Hand 1: 42.3756 % 41.72% 00.66% { 22 }
Hand 2: 57.6244 % 56.97% 00.66% { 22+, A5s+, KJs+, QJs, A5o+, KJo+, QJo }

There are 6 digits in his chip count, not 5...

Does this mean you flex your big stack here?

Really don't think this is a resteal with that wide of a range due to Hero's chipstack. Villain has to know that Hero can call him with a really wide range, thus he needs to be pushing a range much tighter than this.

No, I think he just misread the OP and thought you had 23000, not 230000 chips. I probably fold here. I think his range includes more pocket pairs and less random broadway cards than the ones given above.
