I received a resume from a person looking for a job today. Here is what it said for his most recent job (this is not a joke):

Experience:

Poker Professional – LG Poker, LLC – Marlboro, NJ Jan. 2006 – Present
In this role the Poker Professional enters tournaments both on-line and live in an attempt to successfully defeat all other competitors.
• Grossed over 100K in winnings since January 2006
• Competed in World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, NV in June 2006
• Won 16 tournaments since January 2006
• Invited to international competitions in five countries.


The applicants initials are LG. He graduated college in 2005 and had a full time job until he joined LG Poker LLC in 2006.

Brag: none
Beat: This guy has been invited to five countries to compete internationally, I have only been to Mexico, USA and Canada. None of these visits were for international competitions.
Variance: The life an MTT professional and his limited liability company.

Don't be too hard on yourself with the beat there. I guess poker hasn't been too good to him or he wouldn't be looking for a job.

I highly doubt this guy is a winning player or else why would you want to work for someone? Regardless, you gotta give him some credit for being somewhat honest about what he did the past couple years...

today my professor was talking to me personally after class. somehow or another he brought up what i was doing for a job. i was like "i dont have a job at the moment" and he was like "so you're just moochin off your parents?" and i was like "no, i make my own money." At this point I figured he would think I was dealin drugs so I was like "i play cards." he started asking me a bunch of questions and told me to get a real job cause its more dependable. i was just like "yeah" and shrugged it off cause he obv had no clue. I really hate when people ask me what I do, cause they never understand.

Invite him for a interview. Pretend to know absolutely nothing about poker. Insist that his winning were all luck, ask him how much he lost, etc.

Occasionally throw in some ambiguous poker lingo such as...

1. "At this company, we like to keep our employees on their toes. Quick, what's 2+2?" (He's supposed to say 4)

2. "Last quarter, our company was robusto."

3. "We are in a marketing war with XYZ Corp. They have invested approximately $10,000 in an online marketing campaign. We plan to match them. It's a 10k fight, yo."

4. (Co-worker knocks on the door and comes in) "sup bro?"

5. Have a big picture of Dids right behind you in full view of LG.
