Is there any software for making easily read hand histories, much like the hand history converters for online play?

What?!?! You've never kept records?! All these years?

Personally I started with Excel and I'm sticking with Excel. It may be tough if you dont have much spreadsheet experience but I like that because I built it, I can make it however I want. If I want to know how often I play long sessions when I'm losing vs. how often I pick up and quit I can. If I want to know how much I make per hand I can.

Addendum: I do wish there was a program to record hand histories. If anyone hears anything can we please keep bumping this thread up.

BK: I'd be happy to help you start a spreadsheet if you want. PM me if you do.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to do something on a Palm OS.

I just use excel, it's pretty easy to setup how I want. I have an MS Word file that I jot down HH's in.

Re: Best software for B&M records?

i use the webbased software at pokerdominator.com

but i wouldn't recommend it since the timeline (x-axis) doesn't display time in a linear manner. For example is I play every day for one week and then play again a year later it would look like I played for eight straight days. i don't know, it bugs me. i'd like to get an accurate visual representation to how i've been doing over time.

I used to use excel and switched to statking recently, it's not bad. The one thing I wish it did is use (at least) three fields for game type. so instead of "1/2 NL HE" it would be "1/2", "no limit", "holdem". so you could filter based on those specific types. also all of the historical winrate info is in $/hr and it can't change to bb/hr because it has no field for bb.

Yeah I was having a rough session, not in a good frame of mind, so I went home and bought a new computer.

Re: Best software for B&M records?

I started working on learning Visual Basic.NET so that I could program for WM6, but I finally realized that to compile it for use on WM6, I need an expensive copy of another program. Plus, my time is worth $35/hr at the tables, so I doubt I can invest too much time in this. I am happy to pay however... and nobody in the software forum wants to mess with it. This should be an EASY program. Oh well.

Re: Best software for B&M records?

I just bought Stat King 2 days ago because I've never learned how to make a spread sheet and now that I've got my new Mac w/ Windows on it I can use things like that. It looks like it will keep the records that I want in a fairly easy to use way. OTOH, its made Jan 2007 look a lot uglier than it did in my ledger book. Unless you happen to like red...........
