without a read this is a fold.

Shoving here can be good, but I require a history of light 3betting before I shove...unless his pfr is pretty high.

His 4bet is a min-raise, why can't we call here and see a flop?

His range is pretty much AA/KK/QQ/AK/JJ right?

I am not putting in 1/3 of my stack as a major dog against AA/KK when if I hit a flop I still lose.

I am not putting in 1/3 of my stack when he has QQ/JJ and then we get no more money out of him.

Now when he has any hand we have decent equity against we are making a -EV play by calling and when he has any hand we are a dog to we are making a -EV play by calling.

even though you're getting 3-1, calling is probably not +ev (depending on his range, i say probably because against unknown tag's it's not).

once he 4bets you it's pretty retarded to stick anything in with a drawing hand (which is essentially what it is at this point). it's usually got RIO written all over it.

it's push or that fold at that point, and i'm only 5bet shoving maniacs and guys with history.

Fold to 4bet. I am rarely 5betting AQ AK all in ever.

When people 4-mini-bet me it SCREAMS of Aces or Kings wanting more money in the pot but too scared to chase people away. I really hate stereotyping bets into ranges, but in this instant I believe it's accurate.

Calling sucks. AK is not a calling hand. Its value v most ranges is in seeing all 5 cards, because it is a drawing hand. Taking away 2/5 of your cards w AK, and then forcing a decisions isnt smart. I think this is a fold. I really hate it tho.

LDO. But imo villain here plays KK and QQ similar, which reduces the difference with AQ and AK. Can you see where I am coming from.

I only mentioned AQ, because twice and twice too many I have played AQ badly in a position like this, so figured others may have too.

Villain doesnt do this w QQ nearly as often as w KK. In fact this is either some kind of horrible play with a huge range of hands that may very well include AQ or It is Aces or Kings.

If Hero has AQ this is a retardly easy fold, no? But if Villian can have QQ here then AK&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;AQ vs QQ so no, it does not reduce the difference between AK and AQ, because if QQ makes up part of his range AK moves up in our range.
