25NL - AKo - TPTK - Facing Donkbet

no special reads on villian, couple of hands ... 40/30 ... so he seemed to be loose!

i thought, my only choice is to shove (what if i just call?)... folding is def. to weak .. what does his preflop call mean?! QQ?! AQ?! .. so it was kinda odd that he is donking the Ace high flop + the Q ... so JJ is totally out of his range i guess ... but he seemed to be loose and might doing that with JJ/KK to take down the pot.

you've hit your cards. push.

[i]edit: yeah, call. i make this same mistake of pushing here, but call and see what happens on the turn.

because if villain is weak, you'll lose her by pushing. if villain is strong you just gave away your stack.

Shovel.

ok we just call ...

what if he bets the turn again?! 1/2 pot - 2/3 pot or even Pot

fold and shout 'OMG' and punch the screen?

Re: 25NL - AKo - TPTK - Facing Donkbet

By calling you make him:

Bet his weaker holdings.
Bluff.
Use your positional advantage.
See if his aggression continues on turn which can save you your stack.

You raised, he shoved, you call, he showed you 2pair and you screamed ?

Then its decision time, he's trying to build a big pot.

Questions to ask:
Is villan aggro?
Does he stack off with 1 pair?
Does he think on 2nd level?
Does he even hand read?

Re: 25NL - AKo - TPTK - Facing Donkbet

generally, leading out with a small bet on the flop = weakness. whereas, leading out with a big bet = gimme ur stack, foo. it's hard not to shove this flop. it's a leak that i have, too, but you really need to just call and reevaluate after villain's action on the turn.

66 is so unreal :-(

damn happens ... [x] stacked off with one pair

NL Newbie 09-18-2007 08:06 AM

Re: 25NL - AKo - TPTK - Facing Donkbet

I actually think 66 is a huge part of his range, so is AQo/AQs but since Ax is also a call is better.

You could argue a instant fold, but that would need a read.

huge read :-)

Re: 25NL - AKo - TPTK - Facing Donkbet

Not strictly a donkbet since he was last aggressor preflop.

My guess at preflop range would be AA-22, AK, AQ (AA, KK and AQ borderline if he knows what he's doing). Without a read could you realistically put him on Axs? c-bet on flop? Could be, but into two preflop raisers? On the flop, I'd put him on QQ, 66, AQ or possibly A6s.

I just don't see enough within his range I want to play against. Random A, Q? Am I giving villain too much credit here?
