NL100: Set Gets Check-Reraised on Dry Board

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 8 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $115.70
BB: $15.55
UTG: $133.25
UTG+1: $58.80
MP1: $111.80
MP2: $32.20
CO: $97.50
Hero (BTN): $71.10

Preflop: Hero is dealt 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (8 Players)
2 folds, MP1 calls $1.00, MP2 folds, CO calls $1.00, Hero calls $1.00, SB calls $0.50, BB checks

Flop: ($5) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, CO bets $4.00, Hero raises to $13.00, SB raises to $22.00, 3 folds, Hero ???

This is my first or second round at the table, no reads on villain. Do I check behind to get another turn bet? Do I go into calldown mode because of dry board? Do I just reraise and try to get it in here?

What do you usually expect someone to have here?

Overpair?
Top two pair?
Overplayed A9?
Aggressive Openender?
Other two pair (including 4)?

on paper you can't really fold this correctly 95+% of the time. At the table well then thats something you have to decide, but this forum isn't going to be able to do it for you.

Any particular reason why you think this is better than just shoving now? Less scary?

shoving or calling and shoving the turn, either play is good.

I would prefer shoving now, as there are many cards I don't want to see

like what? If he has a draw then he folds if you shove now. Don't give him an excuse to fold a hand like 79.

Alright, I called the flop, planning to shove the turn. Turn was another 7. What is your play now?

Re: NL100: Set Gets Check-Reraised on Dry Board

Calling the turn will extract more from a lot of hands that will fold to a push, and won't fold anything you beat. There's almost nothing you fear on the turn, so you're not risking a lot.

Unfortunately, a 7 is one of the things you do fear. Expect to win 50% of the time now, instead of 90%. Your stack is 2/3 the pot? Push, regardless of the action before you.

Bets into me for $25. I shove all in, he has 97. Still like my line I think...
