Got my first real career job and moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This is the view from my balcony:

Die in a white water rafting accident? I might I'm not very good at kayaking.

I'm an engineer in training for the Colorado Department of Transportation. I got my degree in mechanical engineering and like my 2 roomates who also got ME degrees I'm doing civil engineering work. Strange coincidence.

Aspen and Vail are the middle of nowhere. Its like 2 and a half hours to Denver and like 2 to Grand Junction.

I'm 24. I've worked at a drug store, grocery store and an oil tanker so its not like this is my first ever job, just first engineering job.

When I'm not running from bears I plan on hiking, kayaking, disc golfing, skiing, golfing, skateboarding, mountain biking and shamelessly hitting on girls.

disc golf? Its a god damn frisbee... you toss it back and forth at the beach. Ultimate frisbee was a huge stretch, but disc golf? I hope one of your tiva straps gets caught in some large machinery.

Yeah, have fun doing what you love, sucker. I always planned on moving to CO, but I got stuck in Austin, TX, and I'm happy about that.

hah yah the differences in real estate markets is insane. My place is 1800 for a 3 bed 3 bath about 3 miles from down town chicago in a trendy neighborhood. My friend has a place a few blocks north of the magnificent mile, chicagos rodeo drive, and he pays a 950 or something. His apartment is a really small studio, with a window a/c unit. Another freind of mine went to school at SIU, and was thinking about renting an entire house in the town over for 300$ a month.
