WTF was that? I thought the episode was definitely weak and for a finale it was a very sour note to go out on. How are the ratings for this show? I'm a little concerned here as to what direction this is going in. From cool hip [censored] to now lame hollywood production woes cmon HBO.

I got into Entourage because it was a funny mindless show about them balling it up...Thats what my buddies and I like about Entourage.

However, it seems like from the threads on here and other people I have talked too, the vast majority of people really like when things don't go "peachy keen," and they like the conflict and the drama of the show.

I also don't think its a demographic type thign really either, I like shows with substance and with conflict and good drama, and my tastes are varied as are my friends. However, Entourage started off I think catering to those types of people, the type who just want a taste of the "baller" lifestyle they live and just want a funy hip show.

I personally think the drama and conflicts that have been in the show recently seem forced and there just to create conflict. However, that is what many people watch the show for.

I just hope this next season of Entourage doesn't try and go in both driections. Either keep it casual and light without much conflict, or take it a more serious route. Don't keep trying to do both, because the storylines sufer.

Sofia Coppola's movie Marie Antoinette was booed at Cannes last year. I think it's not unheard of there.

I still don't understand how it could have gotten into Cannes if it sucked so badly. E seems to be the only one that can spot a bad movie, so that reinforces my belief that if they actually make Silo, that will bomb too. Then how will Vince get his money to ball out of control?

Takes the show in a very poor direction.

I think you guys are missing that now that Harvey owns the movie, he can do whatever the hell he wants to do with it, which is why E was trying to sell him the movie in the first place, to get it recut.

Walsh's version blew, but the recut with someone new will be good.

I agree, that things in the end will probably all turn out good, walsh will end up off the show, Vince will win an oscar for his role as Pablo, and Harveys recut of the movie will lead to it being a huge blockbuster sucess.

Looks like they did just flat drop the Anna plotline.

The Drama stuff was too over the top and corny.

This show is just so written by retards.

i was really excited for this finale (hoping anna faris was still involved and causing great conflict between vince and e) but now i can say with great certainty that if this show aired during the new network tv sept-may months, it might not even get watched.

pros:
they actually hit a major road block
judging by the group walking together at the end, walsh may be out for good? (i like the character but not how it impacts the plot)
e was proven right (i kinda like the guy...but whether u do or not, it was annoying all season knowing he was gonna be right but nobody would admit it)

I didn't really have a problem with it, but I think I expect less from it than you guys. Entourage has always just entertained me, made me laugh, I don't really watch it on any deeper level than that.

It felt fresh cuz it was new.

The show survived on Drama and Ari...but even that has gotten stale. so now it is just contrived plot lines with lame cameo appearances.

if I was Piven, I would get out of this show ASAP. He is the only good actor on the show, and he needs his own show on a big network.

He needs to get out now before the show heads wayyyyy south.

I liked the ep a lot actually...I don't really mind E like everyone else, so I like that they made the movie a total (Cannes) flop to show that E might know what the hell he's talking about.

Hopefully, this begins the phasing out of Walsh.

I thought it was decent but thought the Drama that was very stupid. It was obvious that he was going t get kicked out of the hotel and chick would be gone.

The Medellin sucking line was also obvious due to the bidding on the show sight unseen.

I'm one of those that watch it for the humorous lines and ballin rather than the plot line and character development so this show seems to entertain me.

In my opinion, the show has flourished on having a ballin/fun style, a couple Emmy-worthy characters (Ari + Drama), and incredible directing by Julian Farino.

Of all those factors, I think this ep only succeeded on the ballin/fun aspect, and only slightly at that. The Drama storyline was predictable and cheesy, Ari was just ok, and I thought that the Cannes atmosphere provided the opportunity for some real brave directing, which I didn't feel was delivered, mainly because Julian Farino didn't direct it.

Although many people watch the show solely for the ballin/fun factor, I'd like to see some more character development, especially for Vince.

Can someone explain the economics involved in the episode a little?

So Vince/E put up $5 million, and Nicky Rubenstein put up $30 million for a budget of $35 million.

Since they sold the movie for $1, will they be receiving a cut of the profit on movie to make up for their investment? Is this a percentage of the total gross? Is there a minimum or maximum amount of money they could make here?

If they HAD sold the movie for $75 million, I assume Nicky and Vince/E would split the profit in proportion to their investment. Would they still be getting a % of the gross on top of this in this case?

I really enjoyed the first episode of this season. It was not the standard entourage story, and set up the whole season - they have a movie, what next?

What a contrast with the finale. The story lines opened during the season (E's business and what it means for Vince, Anna Faris, the Clouds screenplay) all got dumped with no real closure and the questions that should have been answered are left open.

If they wanted a cliffhanger, they got it. Only the unknown is how the hell the writers can fix this morass, and if anyone will still care next year when after the next three hot new shows come out. Probably not what they wanted in a cliffhanger.
