Brothel ads in vegas?

I was cruising around our beloved city today when I saw something I thought was illegal.

I saw one of those billboard on wheels advertising something called "The Chicken Ranch". I didn't get to see it for long, but it mentioned something about "closest to vegas". I can only assume this is a brothel.

If it's not a brothel, please somebody correct me and this thread can be stopped cold.

If it is a brothel, I'm a little confused. It's my understanding that the brothels which operate legally in other NV counties (not Clark county) are prohibited from advertising in Clark county.

I've always loved that law. That law exists (at least as I understand it) NOT because Vegas doesn't want seedy ads from seedy brothels. Rather, Vegas is worried that if such ads were seen around town, people might start to question the heretofore rarely doubted misconception that prostitution is in fact legal in Vegas. I think this is a quintessential fact in understanding the concept of Vegas.

Anywhoo, anybody got any info on if there's been a change in the law, or is this some sort of rogue advert.

It was ruled it's legal to advertise something that's illegal in the jurisdiction you're advertising in.

One second of googling: Las Vegas SUN

There's definitely a cultural difference between the US and the UK towards obviously fake [censored]. I look at that pic and think Yuk! I can't stand fake titties at all, not even on strippers, hookers or pornstars. But in the US you guys like 'em, right? I think Brazil is the same.

i'.ve lived here for 40 years, when you moved here to "sin city" you knew there were whorehouses in Nevada. If you dont like it, take I15 west, back to LA.

Who said they didn't like it? And if they don't, shouldn't they go east, to Utah?

If the Chicken Ranch is still set up the same way as when I went there here's a good bit of advice: When you walk in (especially w/ a group) there will be a couch on the left side of the room. IMMEDIATELY take the seat on the couch closest to the door you just entered. When the madam brings the girls out to line up the guy in that seat gets to choose first. I was on Maryland. I think it was near Maryland and Flamingo. Like I said before, it was one of those mobile billboard truck things. Wasn't on the strip. Also, haven't seen another one since (been on the strip 5 or 6 times since then).

Recent Court case. analogous to dormant commerce clause/ online poker

The law was struck down as unconstitutional recently. Good Judge, used to litigate against him. There is a thread about it in poker legislation.

The ruling is good for folks who want to argue that the UIGEA reliance on State laws regarding online poker violate the commerce clause.
