FTP
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that FTP dishes out an extradinary number of bad beats? It seems that the better hand always loses to the dog on FTP.

Re: FTP
Well this seals the deal, FTP is rigged.

Re: FTP
WoW - thanks for the sarcasm....
Just looking for some answers after taking some horrible beats in the past 4 months playing on FTP. Seems I keep losing to people catching river, turn to outdraw me (whether I'm slow playing or pushing). I don't know if its a leak in my game, or if I'm just getting plain unlucky. I don't buy into the theory that the site is rigged (I have won enough times to recognize this), but some of the hands I've lost with seem absolutely unreal. QQ vs. QQ and I lose to a flush. |
Re: FTP
dude f off seriously. You guys are all in the wrong game if you think you should never lose to a worse hand. It's a leak in your game. Get a boat and go float down OnlinePro's river of tears

Re: FTP
Not saying I shouldn't lose to a worse hand, its the number of times that I've seen it happen (not just to me). Perhaps I see it more often cause I'm still fuming from my previous beat.

You don't think it is rigged but you take horrible beats. lol, your an idiot |
Re: FTP
I was directed here by FTP, who said that the site offered some information comparing live hand statistics to online statistics. How about directing me to those articles so I can read it? That would be more helpful than being a (I'll censor myself).

Re: FTP
One sample of a recent beat that I took...
Me: BB with AA (raise 3X BB) (there are 4 limpers); raise knocks out all but one limper; Flop: A-8-9 (rainbow flop); I bet the pot, opponent raises double my bet; Turn: 6; I bet pot again, opponent re-raises all in and I call; Opponent opens with 7-4 River; 5...Trip Aces lose to runner, runner straight... |
Re: FTP
This happens to me routinely on FTP which is why I'd like to see statistics between online and live poker.
I normally play $10 or $20 sit n' gos and tournaments on FTP. |
Re: FTP
I had aces once and they lost to kings all in preflop. And then later THAT SAME DAY I had AK ALLLIN PRELFOPIEPFLKJL:KJ vs another AK and I LOST BECAUSE HE HIT A FLUSH KL:JDFSKLJ::LKJ.
Oh wait that was on stars, never mind. |

[/ QUOTE ] First off, you should raise more than 3x BB with FOUR LIMPERS. If one of them calls then all of them should call because of pot odds. Second, just think about how many hands you play online and how many times your aces have won. Are you running PT? Look at the statistics for how many times your Aces win and they should all pan out. A bad beat is a bad beat, its a whole different story if your Aces are winning 50% of the time. |
Re: FTP
I understand that it happens in poker and you get unlucky (and clearly I wanted someone dumb enough to play 7-4 against my aces). What I'd like to see is statistics that demonstrates that this does not happen as frequently online as I perceive. Apparently this site offered this info...

Re: FTP
Ottawa,
these type of posts happen everyday which is why you are unfortunately being met with such rudeness. If you play long enough you will notice stretches where you will win an inordinate amount of your hands including times you are well behind or tied (AK v. AK you win with flush) then the reverse will happen for a stretch. Its normal variation and happens on all sites. |

Re: FTP
WoW - I'm glad that so many people on this site (no offense RedRocket) think that they are such experts to tell me that I suck at poker. Who would have thought that I'd some (personal censor) sitting at home on a computer jerking off to Elisha Cuthbert while playing online poker would take offense to me asking a question.

Re: FTP
if you mean poker tracker...I tried to install it and for some reason its not working...
|
Re: FTP
Is there software or a site that you could take your Pokertracker database to and analyze what your winnings would be if normal percentages held up on the river?
This to me would be the only way to know, with a PT database, if the underdog is hitting their card too much on the river. We all remember our incredible bad beats, and to most they do seem disproportionate. Having an analysis tool like this might dispel (or prove) the myth once and for all. |

[/ QUOTE ] Sir: A lot of people at 2p2 have played a lot of poker and are a good judge of who is and isn't decent. We have also been around long enough to see this exact scenario happen many many times on this forum. 1. Someone makes a poker is rigged type post. 2. Someone posts examples of hands they (mis)played. 3. Someone gets mocked, chided, etc. 4. That Someone takes offense and reacts pretty much like you did above. The truth is: online poker is not rigged. Now, are you gonna run away and live in the fantasyland that says it is rigged and you don't suck at poker. Or come over to uNL and learn how to play better? --aj |

[/ QUOTE ] Check out the software forum, there is a program called "poker EV" or something like that where you can import you PT stats and it gives you a graph of how you did run versus "Slanksy Bucks" I myself thought I ran like crap on FTP, but after 100000 hands there was only a difference of like 3-4 buyins between actual $ won and Sklanky bucks (what I should have won), however in the short run (over a few thousand hands) the difference can be huge - I remember a 3500 hands stretch where there was a 9-10 buyin difference between Actual and Sklansky bucks winnings - and yes, that can get to you....... but over the long run it will average out. At least it did for me and my guess would be it will for everyone else too...... |
