isn't his name harabob or something like that on ftp? look up the old episodes of the circuit radio show on card player, he had IMO the best episode where he [censored] on freddy deeb, and explained how he made a fortune betting basketball and learned how to play poker by jumping into 10k wpts....nh bob nh

think its harabolous voulgaris, not sure on spelling you could google him easily.

he was also on monte carlo millions a while ago on matasows and iveys table. Most likely a very successful cash game player who hasnt luckboxed a major tourney yet to get TV fame, but is better than most WPT final tablists.

pretty sure he is canadian, came in second to the grinder in the lapc where he should have won, and im pretty sure he made a lot of his money from starting a online gambling site and then sold it for millions.. other than that a good side game pro..

Haralobos is awesome, I've listened to his Circuit episode two or three times. Among other things, he talks about how he blatantly lied to WPT interviewers and told them he was a professional poet.

Haralobos's appearance on The Circuit was definitely a great listen. He's a really good story teller.

i remember reading somewhere on here that he originally made his money by putting his sports betting roll (80k or 100kish) on the lakers to win the chip at like 8 to 1 or something. he either wins and ships it or loses and goes to grad school. lakers win, ship the money, continue to crush nba betting and beat high stakes poker on the side for fun.

I really liked his style...not a big fan of how he played that KK hand. Should have raised on turn imo...if not then checking river is best move. Betting river made no sense to me. Check/call FTW

not personally defending the play but his reasoning was that players like to raise blocking bets with weak hands, so he made one hoping to get raised so that he could call. he did not put villian on flush draw.

This is what I've heard.

Paul Phillips told a great story in his blog where he tivo'd the WPT event that was airing while HV was flying in and staying at PP's house. PP changed the under title on the broadcast to something like 'pretentious playwright'. HB started pacing around the house bitching about the WPT people until PP told him the truth.

Seems like a fun guy to hand out with.

Did he say that he was planning to call a shove? I think that would be terrible. I think the blocking bet was to get to a cheap showdown again TP.
