Circular logic... def def not going to win you Miss Teen USA buddy.

The more I think about it the more I think she is right with her initial statement. I mean once you see a map or own a map you can see where America is and unless you are cognitively below a preschooler you will be able to point it out on a map in the future. For instance, one family is more affluent and owns a globe, kids play with globe, kids know where America is... other family poor, can barely afford spheres of cheese much less detailed plastic spheres denoting geographical significance.

SO I think it's possible she had an okay answer but got tripped up by how idiotic she sounded and proceeded to pull a matrix 2 architect and insert a bunch of smart sounding words into a goobledy gak mess.

I did not grow up with globes or maps in my household. I learned what the U.S. looks like on the map through elementary school, high school, and college. It's not a matter of "some people don't have maps".

However, it is funny that some people are trying to defend her answer now.

US-Americans is ok I think considering that the entirety of North and South America call themselves Americans. From a global perspective it's kind of smug to call just ourselves that. On the other hand, we don't really have many good alternatives.

ETA: I think it's possible that this was intentional by the way, not because she would comprehend this but because she possibly picked it up from someone.
