Official Red River Roundup thread

Seems like alot of 2+2ers are playing so let's start a sweat/results thread!

The 3ed Annual Red River Roundup started today at noon. $1000+$100 approx 1000 runners over the first 3 days. Let everyone know how you are doing!

Got my first update from a buddy about 1 hr ago who had just busted out with AK vs 44 on a K44 flop. His highlight of the day was having TJ Cloutier at his starting table.

I'm playing tomorrow. Good luck all!

i got knocked out. KK vs 1010 preflop, first card 10! gg =(

btw heres a hand that i laid down, wanna know what you guys think..
blinds were at 50/100, i had red AA on the bb. 1st player after utg (about 8000 chips) raises to 500, i (about 7000 chips) reraise to 1500, he instacalls. flop is Js 8s 7h. I bet 2000, he instacalls again. the turn comes a 6s, I check, he bets 2000. I have about 3500 left, and i decided to fold.

do you think that was the right play?

No. What hand do you put him on? AKs? It seems like there are quite a few other hands preflop that he could play that way. Did he appear good? Tight? Do you give off a vibe of confidence, or does he percieve you as an Oklahoma hick who doesn't know what he's doing? I could see him on almost any AK, with either one being a spade, or KK, or QQ, or AJ, or JJ. Hard to say...

Anyway, for you and anyone else, can you give impressions of the tournament? I've got a Saturday start date. Any suggestions, tips, general comments?

My mouth is watering at the thought of a 5/10 PLO game running at Winstar, but unfortunately, I just cannot justify the bankroll risk of playing in it.

I advanced to Sunday. I only have 31K after losing a 70K pot late Friday. I will have on a pokerstars jacket and visor.

out after the first break, never had more than the starting chips.

I run goot at having QQ, QQ, and JJ against AA, KK, and KK

made it down to 75 on friday, i get moved and the 5th or so hand i'm in the BB @ 500-1000, with about 10-12k, guy i have covered by 1k raises to 4k in teh CO or hijack, i push AJo and he says something to the effect he's ready to go home and tired of playing and calls with 89o, gg america as an 8 flops and i blank out

Just got back from OK, busted out 49th on Friday, So close. I saw Raymer bust out quickly today when must have been at least 300 out of the 330 left. Kido Pham was still @ average when I left... Also i saw TJ Cloutier get Kido's autograph, crazy...The most idoitic hand i saw= Friday, Catfish(some old guy, chip lead, 100K in chips,) and some guy with handkerchief over his face like a bandit ( about 70K prob about 5th or 6th in chips) get entagled on this flop: 2 3 5, catfish raised like 20K w. , other guy went over top, catfish insta called, Bandit turned over J 6 w/ no flush draw, and catfish turned over two pair & it held. I coulnt believe my eyes. THen someone said "catfish sent him packin" and catfish replied" i sent him to the freeway" <--- i found that pretty funny, Hope someone posts more info

Re: Official Red River Roundup thread

Catfish got all his chips making plays like that I guarantee you. I play with him and he is a very aggressive and looooooose player. He made the money and is playing today but gave back 75k on a very similar hand where he went over the top on a gutter draw and of course missed. I am leaving in a few minutes to head up there for the finals. I only have 31K and need to make a hand in the first two orbits with it costing 6600 an orbit. This is my second cash in a row at this tourney and feel like something good may happen today. I will post when I get back.

Awesome. How many they paying?

Any good weird side games going? Karl decided he didn't want to go yesterday and I'm thinking he's not going to want to go today either.

Ring games were good Friday night thru Saturday morning. 10/20 NL, 2/5 PLO, 5/10 PLO, 5/10 LO/8, 10/20 LHE.

Lower limits too of course. Games were loose and active.
