OT: What\'s the significance of your 2+2 username?

As for mine, I often used to call up a female friend of mine and say "hey gorgeous." She always retorted, "hey handsome." It became a "nickname" for lack of a better term, and as a big fan of irony I elected to use that for my username. Please note that it bares no semblance to reality, nor do I claim that it does. I am actually, in fact, pretty ugly.

How about you guys? I'm pretty curious.

I have trained in a traditional Japanese martial art for quite a few years. During class we use Japanese honorifics like 'chan', 'san', and 'sensei'. My first name is Jon, so during class most folks call me Jon-san.

It contains all permutations of 'gob' - gob, gbo, ogb, obg, bgo, bog. I thought about going with Gebgegbeg, being a fanboy of Godel, Escer, Bach, but I didn't think that was as "pronounceable".

Re: OT: What\'s the significance of your 2+2 username?

My original 2p2 name was pokerdirty. When Mat started allowing name changes, I decided that it was time to drop the poker part, considering it is a poker site and everyone knows that I play poker here, for just P. P.Dirty is a rip off of P.Diddy, who I'm not really a big fan of, but whatever. P.Dirty is also some Mexican rap dude, but I have not heard his beats.

It is the name my parents gave me. Seemed better to use that one than a 'handle' that might change in 6months time.

Re: OT: What\'s the significance of your 2+2 username?

I played DeltaForce as DingChavez back in 98, he was a character in some Tom Clancy books. When RainboxSix came out everybody new the nick and it lost its obscurity. So I changed it to TeckChavez, which stuck with me through my Tribes and Tribes2 days. I kept it when I started playing poker and used it for my 2+2 nick as well. At the time I registered, I didn't realize that your 2+2 nick should be different than your PP nick but at the level I am at I don't think it makes a difference.

I find Freud hilarious and people who believe his theories even more hilarious. Pseudoscience amuse me. I am pretty easily amused.

I have never used it as a screenname in any pokerroom though. I am not all that emotionally invested in aliases.

My last name is Wiggins and back like 10 years ago, one of my friends randomly started calling me Wiggs to distinguish me from my best friend who happened to share my first name. Then others started doing it. Then I started getting introduced as Wiggs. I like the numbers 7 and 3 for some reason. There it is.

My senior year in college my roommate and I who drank ourselves into oblivion nearly every night were having an argument. He attempted to call me a douchebag but was too hammered, instead called me a shmooshbag. In my annebriated state I found this hilarious, shortly after I started my first poker account and "shmoosh" was born.

seke2 02-27-2006 02:19 PM

Re: OT: What\'s the significance of your 2+2 username?

The origin of the name comes from the combination of the names of two good friends of mine from a summer trip, SEth and jaKE. Originally I went by "Gunslinger" in my MUDing days, but had an alternate character named Seke. When I went to play Everquest for the first time, I tried to sign up as Gunslinger and they denied my name since it wasn't fantasy enough, so I went with Seke instead and I've been using it as my online name ever since.

So Seke has been my online alias for most of my gaming days, in MMORPGs and just stuck with it for 2+2. I ended up with the trailing "2" afterwards from when I signed up for some gaming-related message board, forgot my accounts password, and then signed up again and just stuck a 2 after my name. Then I decided it would be too much of a pain to remember what sites I was just "seke" and which ones I was "seke2" so I just went with seke2 everywhere.

Re: OT: What\'s the significance of your 2+2 username?

When I first registered at PartyPoker 6 years ago or whenever it started I was driving a green corvette called "Irievet."

Irie is a rastafarian term denoting a sense of peace and wellbeing.

"Irieguy" was the first thing I thought of when making my account.

At the time, I was "Craig H" on 2+2. When they changed the software, I had to re-register, but I could never get them to send me a password.

After about 2 years and 20+ attempts to register I figured out that the passwords were going to my junk email box.

It just happened that the junk email password that I chose to open (out of several) used my Partypoker screenname, Irieguy.

It was probably my 10th choice as a 2+2 name. But now I like it.

Last name plus my area of specialty in Theatre (Lighting Design).

I'm probably dumb, but it's also my email, Stars, Party, Full Tilt, and UB name. I could never come up with another name and I never got all that into hiding my identity. I suppose I like making friends and being recognized and long walks on the beach.

My friend's Dad was in a pseudo-frat in college in Chicago called the Suzzers. (Possibly interestingly - with George Wendt, of Cheers fame. Says he was exactly as his character on Cheers.) We used it as the name of our softball team one year in college. Once the internet came along, I decided to use it for all my usernames.

For a long time I had suzzer all to myself. Now I can seem to get suzzer anywhere. I have to put #s after it. Is suzzer (plain) available here? Can I have it?

In the mid-Seventies I bought a business known as the <font color="blue">"NEWPORT SAILING CLUB"</font> (actually it was more of a "F'ing" Club &amp; a Drinking Club) I owned 10 sailboats which I rented out &amp; I gave sailing lessons...I went broke in the business (Meh) but I kept the nickname.
I have been known as "SkipperBob" or "SFB" to all my friends &amp; relatives ever since....Yet another of my nefarious schemes was the year I spent as a "prop" at the Bicycle Club Casino; during this period the rather infamous SkipperBob acquired even more panache than before
