SSNL POKER [cheese] thread AUG PT 2

Please don't clutter the forum by starting crappy threads. The open forum is mostly for hand threads and a few theory posts here and there. Fill this thread with only poker related content. Things you'd like to share or ask about, but probably aren't worthy of their own thread.

For example, stuff like this:

--Stars is a ROCK GARDEN!!!1!!
--What's a good winrate?
--Wow, how do you guys play more than 3 tables at once?
--graphs/stats
--busto/robusto/rostucko
--silly, odd, peculiar hands
--does anyone still play at UB?
--here's my stats over 300 hands, move up?
--non-strat questions that aren't worthy of their own thread
--various other poker junk/crap/misc.

Also, NO FLAMING PLEASE. And please don't circumvent the profanity filters by creative means. And don't break the cheese thread by posting oversized images!

Enjoy!

Please note we have another cheese-type thread for non-poker related OT content called SSNL [Life].

Just curious, how good really are the people that generally make it into these ~24$ MTT fts? Would any random average ssnl tag be able to fare well in low buy in (say..10 ish or so) MTTs just based on knowledge of cash games?

yes, you get the hang of mtt's after awhile. you need to learn the push/fold stuff for when you get shortish. higher variance than cash tho.

Maybe one or two or solid(ish) players to look out for and give a little respect to, but otherwise, just hope your cards hold up.

Yeah basically, if you can just win a few races in the 3rd hour and you steal a fair amount, you should make it pretty deep. That's when you pray for cards or sweet situations and hope you hold up.

It's fairly straightforward. I try to play TAG in first 2 hours, then switch gears to maniac, then switch at 3.5-4 hours (or when I get a nasty nasty image) back to TAG. It's pretty easy and fun, but variance is a [censored].

How come British-derived accents sometimes say an "r" at the end of words that end in A? For example, while watching some BBC channel in Europe I kept hearing the word "Canader." Where the [censored] is Canader?

Man, get sucked out and start playing baaaaaad. Made some bad calls and some spewy bluffs. The good part is I caught this just in time or else I'm sure I woulda dropped a couple more buy ins in no time. When I'm up like 4 buyins and then lose 1-2 I always feel I need to press to get those back before I can quit, but now I think I'm getting smarter and realize quitting ahead for the day is goooooooooood

hey all, just wanted to share my experience with the FTP bank transfer option so far.

i initiated a cashout friday, august 3 and it just showed up in my bank today, wednesday the 15th. so while this is kind of slow (and much slower than the old eChecks option that full tilt discontinued six months ago or so), it's a no-hassle direct cashout method.

guess i'll stick with FTP...

edit: also nicky that is a sicksicksick call. please provide more details on how you even talked yourself into a flop call

I'm asuming you can't use pokertracker for whatever reason.
Ok, so winrate (ptbb/100) = (moniez won/ hands played) x (100/big bet)

Note big bet is double the big blind.

How come British-derived accents sometimes say an "r" at the end of words that end in A? For example, while watching some BBC channel in Europe I kept hearing the word "Canader." Where the [censored] is Canader?

Know one case of the exact opposite. Did my SCUBA course with a British girl named Galer who pronounced it "Gaylah".

Not too bright, but looked great with her clothes off.
