Official Party Regulars Thread: Part II

SSNL is doing these again for a week so I figure ill save myself 45 PMs and open them up for the same timeframe. Same rules as last time, if you all abuse the privledge I will lock these, ban and then well never have them as long as Im modding.

1. NO FLAMING. Abuse your privledge and its lost. This will be heavily moderated.
2. No outting 2p2ers.
3. Keep discussion clean and to the point.
4. Use common sense

Re: Official Party Regulars Thread: Part II

Id just like to say that all the players you see on Party 50nl with TAG stats are awful at poker. I hvae never sat at a Party 50nl table and had any kind of trouble at all. I dont mean to be rude but Party 50nl is just one huge joke.

You get regs like V_I_P and this guy like tarjheels or whatever it is, but they have no idea how to play postflop and overplay their mediocre hands in bad spots. Here's a hand from V_I_P, who is BB

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $75.35
BB: $49.25
UTG: $61.11
CO: $76.98
Hero (BTN): $62.97

Preflop: Hero is dealt 8http://legopoker.com/hh/images/club.gif 5http://legopoker.com/hh/images/club.gif (5 Players)
2 folds, Hero raises to $2.00, SB raises to $6.50, BB calls $6.00, Hero folds

Flop: ($15) Jhttp://legopoker.com/hh/images/club.gif Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9http://legopoker.com/hh/images/diamond.gif (2 Players)
SB bets $9.00, BB calls $9.00

Turn: ($33) 6http://legopoker.com/hh/images/club.gif (2 Players)
SB bets all-in for $59.85, BB calls all-in for $33.75
Uncalled bet of $26.10 returned to SB

River: ($100.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Pot Size: $100.50 ($2 Rake)

SB had K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (a straight Nine to King) and WON (+$49.25)
BB had Qhttp://legopoker.com/hh/images/club.gif Ahttp://legopoker.com/hh/images/club.gif (a pair of Queens) and LOST (-$49.25)

Thats from a 20/15/4. LOLLLL

One of the better guys I've seen is der_rainer but he's so tight that it doesnt even matter. He is about 18/11. You get the occasional guy coming down from 100nl like iamtonismom but even they arent very good.

nl50 is alot more agressive than nl25 imo, but it's still very easy.

I want some kind of secret codeword when we see each other, so I know not to play with any of you bastards.

Play at Crypto, Party seems great after I play Crypto for a while. At Party, Iqball annoys me sometimes. He seems to 3-bet me a lot. I always have something, I'm just worried one of these times I won't.

Has anyone ever 3-bet a flop at Party 25NL with anything other than the stone cold nizzles? Seems like my top two keep running into 3 flush boards.

Also, has anyone played with PartyPS at 25/50NL? He's a very predictable LAG/maniac but he always seems to have position on me whenever I sit down.

I played with Partyps once, and he was playing like the biggest maniac ive ever seen, he must've been bored or something because he was raising pretty much 100% of his hands preflop and potting every flop. since then he's been playing a bit more orthodox... Anyone played with me before? (chillout85)

also, bradcona who i played nl50 with recently seemed a bit of a fish, but one who got extremely lucky repeatedly...u know the type I mean

Partyps has a weird LAG style. Ive seen him with 100+$ on some tables(25$NL) while loosing few stacks in an hour on the other. Ive seen him playing for whole stacks with TPGK.Hes usually folding air tho i think. I think more bluffing than C-bet is no good vs him.

Having recently gone from robusto to busto, I am now staked and rebuilding at 25NL and 50NL. From what I have seen, more players at 50NL play back at aggression, but those that do do so terribly and recklessly. Thus, 50NL may be tougher if you are a weak player, but, if you have a reasonable amount of balls and brains, then it is WAY more profitable (IMHO).

I find this to be very true. At 25nl, you can get away with being very weak, but if you bring that over to 50 you'll get blown off by the aggression.

It's definitely more aggressive, but bad-aggressive.

Re: Official Party Regulars Thread: Part II

Yeah I agree, you need to pick your spots a bit more carefully at NL50. It took me a while to adjust after beating NL25 for a while but once you've settled into your comfort zone you'll see there are still plenty of donks just a slightly different more aggressive breed than the type found at NL25

Both uNL and SSNL have a whole lot of regs who know more or less how to play preflop but don't have a clue post. Crazy thing is their opponents mistakes are so great the good preflop play can make you a small winner or breakeven.

All who have been timed out and folded when holding a set or an overpair on Party raise your hands?

*raises hand*

I don't understand why the hand isn't checked if you don't respond in time like on Full Tilt. I guess getting otherwise decent players to tilt due to their POS software is +EV for them.

PS. I ought to add that this is especially bad when setting up an epic slowroll.

Yeah, he's aggro, but bad with it. I think he probably takes plenty from weak tight players, but I'd happily sit on his left. Just be prepared to call him down lighter, as he tries to win every pot he's in.

A couple of hands on him from my PT database:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

He is the CO in this hand. I think MP was wise to his bluffing ways, hence the turn check.

Hero ($24.92)
BB ($49.54)
UTG ($25.15)
MP ($25)
CO ($74.28)
Button ($25.30)

MP bets $4, CO raises to $61.5, MP calls $25 (All-In).

Final Pot: $63.35

MP has Ad As (two pair, aces and twos).
CO has Qs Ks (one pair, twos).
Outcome: MP wins $63.35. CO wins $32.50.

Couldn't get converter to work for this second hand, but it shows that you have to be prepared to call him down lighter than other players. Sometimes he has QQ+ here, but more often than not he's FOS as usual.
