Madden 2008....PS3 or Wii?
 

So I have a Wii and I'm going to be moving in with a Guy with a Ps3 and a HDTV. So now im not sure whether to buy Madden 08 tomorrow for the Wii or PS3

Pros of PS3: Better Graphics, More Similar to the X360 version
Pros of Wii: Telestrator, Party Modes

Help me out to decide one

I'd go with PS3. The Wii is fun to play with a large group of people, but It's not the Madden that I have loved for so long. Also, PS3+HDTV = Amazing.

PS3 for looks, Wii for cool ass controls/Party Mode.

Also, the Wii version is 10 bucks cheaper.

despite the looks, I'm hearing that it doesn't run well at all on the ps3. confirm/deny anyone?

Madden NFL 08 on PS3 is no a great game. It is a shadow of its cousin on 360. Though the feature set is identical, the drop to an unstable 30fps hurts considerably. The visuals and the gameplay suffer. If you are a real Madden nut and think you can fight through the framerate issues, Madden is an overall good game. It just doesn't run very well. If you only own a PS3 and live for Sundays, then there really is no other choice than to give Madden 08 a shot.

For now we are behind in terms of games, i think after this winter though we will have plenty to play with.

I think he was talking more about how [censored] madden seems to run on the PS3 and not game selection. All the games in the world won't make it fun to play if they're as choppy as I hear Madden is.

I remember the PS2 madden slowdowns. 05 I think had excessive replays while you were choosing your next play and that always lagged up the game. Very frustrating. If the PS3 version is experiencing significant framerate drops during gameplay it speaks very poorly of the future of the PS3.

Just to contrast the opinion of the IGN staff.

I personally love my PS3, it's definitely getting more usage than my Wii at my house. However, if I had a 360, that would most definitely get more usage than the Wii, too.

Anyways, Resistance 40 man deathmatches and Super Stardust have been keeping me entertained. Not to mention Tekken 5:DR is going to launch online play in less than a week.

Cool. I'm happy for you guys to hear that the PS3 version isn't unplayable. It still kind of sucks having that low of a framerate though.

Yeah, kinda a bummer. Definitely something you should try before you buy though.
