Van Halen announces reunion tour
 

With David Lee Roth.

I don't know whether to jump for joy, or cringe in horror.

Having seen DLR on tour with Sammy H a few years ago, I think there's a good chance that this tour doesn't even go to completion. His voice was mediocre at best and he frequently forgot the words to standard VH songs.

Add to that the 'Holier Than Thou' brothers, and I sense a horrible trainwreck worse than the numerous Axl Rose debacles.

I pray that I'm wrong. With some genuine effort from all parties, this could be one fantastic show.

i saw the dlr/sammy tour a couple years ago.

someone with more know-how and elbow grease than me please post a picture of the crypt keeper....i think he and dlr are related

Actually, now that Ed is out of rehab, he looks great. He definitely wasn't looking very healthy before.

I knew the reunion was happening a while back. I had read a fan blog type thing from someone who ran into Alex Van Halen in a bar or restaurant. He apparently confirmed that VH were reuniting soon. This occurred after the original reunion plans were broken.

I think there's no reason not to like this news, unless you don't like Van Halen.

I must be the only old fart around here that saw both Led Zep (recent thread) and Van Halen in the 70's.

I feel sorry for any of you planning to go see this VH reunion tour. I would say there is reasonable chance it is going to suck badly.

I was invited to go to the 1984 tour stop in Houston and my parents wouldn't let me go, and I'm still a little bitter about it.

I think I will pass on this one, though.

If it happens, I'm planning on flying to CA to see the first show. Who knows, that may be the only show.

I remember some person said they should sell tickets to the rehearsals since that's about as far as it usually goes.

The brothers are probably pissed he's all buddy buddy with Sammy.

This tour definitely has train wreck potential, but it also sounds like they could really pull this off and kick ass on a new record. I'm hopeful. I'll be there in Phoenix if they make it that far.

Personally, he's a 2 faced A-Hole who's coattailed his brother his whole career. This was proven at the reunion at the MTV awards fiasco.

Musically, I think he's an OK drummer. Nothing really special. Tommy Lee he isn't.
